Not read any of this thread but from my observations he's really not that quick. Seems like the modern day Rule Fox to me, that's just me thinking out loud btw.....

He has brillent close control and is pretty quick with the ball at he's feet. AS mention before the pace of the EPL would shock anyone , Id say he is quick enough.

Yep this forum suffers heavily from it. Same problem we have if a player doesn't fit nicely into a particular style then they're not good enough for us.

How is it up on that high horse?

To be fair, I can see why people thought he was faster. He looked rapid at times for PSV in his early days. Could be a combination of it being a slower league and he may have lost a tiny bit of pace since his early days.

I had watched him many times and thought he was similar to Lennon in pace, but seeing him live has changed that view drastically.

Its pretty good mate, allows me not to call all our players shit in every thread and seemingly allowed me to not pretend I knew everything about Bergwijn and make claims of him being a better version of a player who's ridiculously unique.

He’s made a good start to his time with us. Nice to see an attacking player with his head up. Very intelligent player going forward with what and who is around him. Will only get better

He's quick but not rapid. However, there is relatively little difference between his sprint speed and dribbling speed.

Although he has come off after 60 minutes looking shattered, I have perceived him to be covering more ground off the ball than some other players currently, when we're not in possession. Perhaps it says as much about his workrate as his stamina. Would have struggled in the high-pressing system we used to play a few years ago though.

We've unfortunately had to massively overuse him due to the injury to Son, doubt we planned to use him this much this early.

My comment about him struggling in a high-pressing system was noly meant in terms of his current fitness. Most new signings took 6 months to fully adapt under Poch and I'm sure Stevie could have done the same.

The good thing about him, is his 5 yard pace and close control. Which our other attackers lack, he also has very good decision making in the final third, which Kane will particularly enjoy.

Yes he isn't rapid, but he brings quick acceleration to our attack which is needed.

For me in the summer i wouldn't be opposed to losing Lamela (only due to lack of fitness), Lucas (headless chicken) and Dele (offers nothing other than great at throwing his boots on the floor) and replacing with the likes of Cantwell from Norwich and Sarr from Watford.

Cantwell has that Lallana vibe about him and i feel has more to his game than Dele which will only get better and Sarr has that scary Bale power / pace which we are lacking. The thing is selling those 3 should easily cover buying those 2 and i think, an attack behind Kane of Son, Sarr, Bergwijn, Cantwell and the likes of Sess/Gedson is very tasty. You could even add Eze into there from QPR and we are massively set. Two homegrown players as well.

Like the boy.
Is the Lallana vibe
a positive thing now?

I think the lallana vibe is a positive thing as long as it's not about being injury prone or likes to strangle youth players.
