Makes sense to swap him for Aouar, or a Lyon player, as we probably still owe Lyon money from when we bought him from there. So clear that down with what Aouar is worth versus what NDombele is worth and remaining to be paid to Lyon.

Lyon could barely afford 1/3 of NDombele's wages.

It's not going to happen.

Writing was on the wall from day 1 when he turned up more in the shape of a darts player than a footballer. We are going to have to take a hit on thus fraudster, just a matter of how big

Real shame that we’re finally going to play the formation that fits him the most and with 2 midfielders that can do most of the hard work.

But I totally understand why nuno is doing this.

Agree. Been desperate for him to come good and become a key player in the team as his ability is clear to see but if he wants out then it's time we moved on from him. There always seems to be something going on with him and it's all got a bit tiresome so feel it's time to close this chapter.

Think the main reason for him looking to move is I just don't feel he fancies the intense, quick physical football played in this league. Italy or Spain probably more comfortable settings for him, bit more time on the ball, game not played at a similar break neck speed and won't have players snapping at his heels as much.

Not true, they were paying around £100,000 a week for Depay, who’s now no longer on their wage bill.

That's because they needed to reduce their wage bill. They won't be bringing anyone in on 100k a week any time soon.

Since giving Depay that contract their TV income has crashed on top of Covid debts.

Tanguy is on close to £200k p/w, their top earner I believe is their GK Anthony Lopes on £85k.

I just don't see Lyon getting anywhere near it personally.

You maybe right, but we don’t know what they can and or can’t afford as fact or whether NDombele would accept something lower i.e. around 100k. My response to you was regarding the ‘wouldn’t be able to afford 1/3 of NDombeles wages”, when he is on around £120k per week, and Lyon pay the likes of Depay (87k), DeSciglio (97k), Lopes (87k) and Aouar (65k).

If he’s that desperate to go, he’s probably willing to take some pay cut to facilitate the move. His deep friendship with Sissoko and Aurier suggest he’s probably struggling with intense home sickness, and he knows they’re likely off sooner rather than later. I wouldn’t be surprised if we take a hit on this to make it happen but I don’t think it would be as severe as we might think. The key to this is the swap between All the Vowels Aouar and Tanguy- if both are willing parties, it could happen in some capacity.

Or I could be talking utter shit when I should be dusting the front room

Ndombele currently being linked via a 17m plus tolisso swap with Bayern. Bayern have been humming and hawing for weeks now over Sabitzer, who obviously wants to go there… but they are skint. Sabitzer last year of contract so onky worth about 17 mil also.

wtf is going on here? I mean, maybe it’s all bullshit but are Bayern seriously choosing Ndombele over Sabitzer. With nagelsmann in charge, who loves the latter. Maybe the bosses there… I don’t know.

Would be amazing if Bayern took Ndombele off our hands, maybe half now rest later, so we could pick up Sabitzer. ? I know…

Yeah. I find it all really sad tbh. We finally have a coach who would most likely get the best out of him but seems like he had already made his mind up to leave prior to Nuno being appointed.

I think is more that Ndoms has said he wants to leave he wants out, and Nuno was clear in his comments im not convincing players to play for Tottenham Hotspur. If Ndoms hadnt said that to the club again and tis time to Nuno i agree, Nuno is the probably a great shout to turn Ndoms around and get he best out of him

I wonder if Nuno brought in a bias against Ndombele since his shocking performance against Wolves at home the season before last?

I would swap him for the Tea lady at Tranmere Rovers ! At least she could make the tea !
Sometimes you just need to accept that you fucked up and take the hit .
That's what Levy has to do in this one !

I think he was clear in his latest presser, without being blunt about it .... if you dont wanna be here then you aint playing and i aint gonna beg and stroke your ego and put my arm around you, when ive got players busting a gut, showing desire, hard work , determination and desperate to put that shirt on their back

The problem is the third man has to do that work too. And Ndombele won't.

I agree. It'll just be a bummer when we're playing a team like Burnley or something and we can't find anyone to make a pass to cut through the defense.

But again, I totally understand Nuno's position.

"lazy"? last season only son & pierre pressed more players, only pierre & reguilon did more interceptions, only pierre & aurier made more tackles. only son progressed the ball further than him. that isn't what a lazy player would do.

Surely you watched the games? Ndombele's 'pressing' was an absolute joke. Gently jogging/walking toward a player is not a press, despite what the stats say. He played okay on occasion, sure, but the main issue is that he literally wastes one of our subs because he can't be bothered to get in shape and compete for a full game. He's only managed 10 x 90' games in the league since he's been here. And it's not like he's pulled up any trees when he has played either, no matter how many step-overs he does. It's one thing 'progressing' the ball past a player, but if you then just flop to the ground, or do nothing else, then it's all just a waste, which sums up his career with us and the money spent on him. IMHO.
