With the current midfield we have at the moment in Skipp, Peh and Alli/GLC plus the potential arrival of Moriba, we have plenty of options. I do agree we need to replace TND if we let him go however if TND does stay and we bring in the likes of Traore and a right back, there will be a hugely positive feeling within the squad and plenty of attacking talent to look forward to watch. I can't imagine TND not being motivated and excited to play then.

If TND ends up staying, I can see him being a great addition to bring off the bench to try change the game. Although, our record signing shouldn't be an impact sub an if we get an offer that the club deem acceptable, I'd cash in. I've been an avid fan of TND and been patient as a fan, but it's now or never if he's going to perform or we sell.

Just came across this, which I thought interesting and possibly applicable in the case of Tanguy. Worth a read regardless of your stance on TN.

“If you gave all footballers a truth pill for a week and made them do interviews I think you’d be very surprised,” he muses.
“I remember Assou-Ekotto doing an interview saying he only played football for the money and everyone got mad, I didn’t understand it.
“All my friends who work as professionals in other jobs, they want to climb the ladder and get a better salary, isn’t that what everyone does? Why are footballers different?
“You’re not allowed to say things like that so footballers just go silent. I know a lot of footballers who hate football, I know some who love and some who have a love/hate relationship with it but nobody says it because they’re so scared of the backlash.“

I agree that given Tanguy is out this window and there are 2 days left, he must be being offered to FCB. Tanguy was always looking for a bigger club then Spurs so, and given FCB's finances, a Tanguy coutinho swap looks like a win win

We ain’t shifting 200k a week. We either loan him out with part wages paid or get him into the team. If he can’t get his head into the first team then it’s a complete fucking mess. He still needs putting in the europa games. He might remember liking playing football again.

Appreciate the speculation about him going Barcelona though does not sit right that he has earned it . If it were upto me I would send him to Stoke for 6 months and cover the wages in full.

He has to agree to the move. You really think he would accept a move to Stoke?

Many thanks for this. I've said it before; I hope Ndombele is getting the best support possible from the club in terms of seeing and getting psychological/ psychiatric help.

Not aimed at you per se but thought I'd respond at this juncture on the narrative of him requiring mental support....

He is getting the best possible support... a £200 000.00 per week support. I'd imagine he can get any extra support himself. Let's also end the narrative that he has some mental issue.....he is not a Danny Rose who came out on his mental struggles.

What you have is a player who simply doesn't enjoy playing for the club and wants out. It's as simple as that. Was it not mentioned that within a few weeks of joining us he regretted the move ? After his 1st year wanted to leave?

We really need to stop wrapping highly paid players in cotton wool and creating "conditions" by inferences as to their mental well-being.

We've paid a record fee and placed him on an extremely competitive salary....in return we should have a player busting his gut and EARNING a move elsewhere to a bigger club.....not moping around taking his pay having a good time and THFC unable to use the asset at hand.

It's time that this fraudster with a previous for such behavior started being sanctioned or docked in his pay.

1. Wasn't happy that Mason treated him unfairly ( posters here)
2. Recently had a baby....needs some time...as if he's the 1st to do so( Hell the PM of New Zealand went back you work after a fucking week..... and she actually gave birth to a baby.... unlike Tanguy)
3. He is showing signs of mental imbalance..... posters on here and others run with it. :cautious:

No it's none of the above....call a spade a spade and not a garden implement. he doesn't want to be at Spurs but is happy to show up to training and earn the huge salary.

Itk have told us and it's been reported by multiple outlets. He has expressed a desire to leave. It's that fucking simple.

Its an interesting challenge trying to motivate a player who doesnt give a shit on the surface. There's probably a lot more to it but 3 managers having the same issue leads you to think its Tanguy and not the team, the training, Daniel Levy, the manager, the weather or the height of the pissoir's at Hotspur Way.

The fans are obviously taking sides on this from the 'he's a troubled but gifted genius who needs more time' crew to the 'you need to tie a midget to his back holding a stick with a ham sandwich dangling from the end of it, screaming 'ham sandwich" to get him to run'. Truth be told we dont know what ails him. I am sure the inner circle certainly do. Too little too late.

It begs the question how poor our due diligence was in signing the guy. How did we fall for Aulas and his bullshit. You can see how we had a free run at this transfer. The scouting network must have already tipped off the big boys on his suspect attitude.

So we dropped, what is it, 60 million big ones on a player who doesnt like his occupation? Its a pity he lacks the ability to recognise this and at least try using a modicum of professionalism to make an effort. It would be embarrasing to most other people in the same situation surely?

Anyway, I am in the group of fans tired of the antics. If Paratici can pull off a loan or a transfer, he is a miracle man in my book.

I don't know about this, just massively curious why there doesn't seem to have clauses in players' contracts that could prevent them from having so much power and clubs can literally do nothing without losing money.

Totally agree, the apparent lack of due diligence on signing Tanguy is incredibly negligent. Fee of 60m and wages of 10m per annum, there should be FA we didn’t know about this guy before we signed him. Strange the contrast between the image of the club as hard nosed negotiators wringing the last ounce out every deal but spunk over 100m on a complete waster.

Nothing wrong with his mental health, just his attitude.

This ALL DAY LONG ...... its about attitude, giving your all and not being a little bitch... i actually am a huge fan of his in terms of ability, but he has been a little bitch which i hate to say, id love him to turn it around as it would make our midfield / midfield options pretty sexy .......

Wouldn’t be surprised if Ndombele is part of this Barcelona business. Must be quite big for Paratici to go out there.

Thats a good shout. They’ve had a lot of coverage over their finances though. Would they be able to get him in, even on loan, while he is on £200k a week?

Pjanic, who we were linked with earlier in the window also hasn’t moved and could be an option.

It's a really weird one because part of me thinks he's just another Ekotto who's a talented player that just doesn't enjoy the sport and finds it hard to get motivated, hence needing "friends" around him to make it easier. Having said that, Ekotto always performed on the pitch most of the time.

The other alternative is that he just doesn't like it here and wants to move, which is fine, but surely he must realise unless he's playing fairly well and making some sort of effort, no ones going to pay his wages let alone make a decent enough bid for him to get a move?

For example we all knew Kane wanted out last year but had 4 years left, so he went out and got the golden boot AND most assists in the season for a team that finished 7th in the league. There's no more dick waving he could have done to City than what he did, City just didn't want to pay what he's worth.

It's a bizarre and unfortunate situation because we are now desperate for player in the mould of a player we already have, and he's bloody world class when he's on his game.

Someone mentioned it recently but if he was motivated, fit and hungry, Tanguy is a better version on Dembele. He's got all what Moussa had but with that final pass or that final finish. We've seen glimpses and some really good performances but I doubt we'll ever see the final product now and it's such a shame as i've always backed him to turn it around.
