I know this is not the Sissoko thread but that interview reminds me what a great guy he is and how much he was insulted by fans for first few years. He was probably the most hated player we had at one point. Now we love him.

Im not saying Ndombele is going to be our most hated player but surely that cautions against some of the strong language used. Give him time - it’s obvious he’s got talent and there is no need to write off his fitness just yet !

"Yes he's fit to play. He's a multi-functional midifeld player - But Tanguy can play as a six, as an eight, as a double. He is a player with a lot of quality, just needs to be physically strong and mentally adapted to the Premier League. Ligue 1 is completely different."

"But he's a fantastic talent, and he is here to help us."

Jose in today's presser.

We all think he is a major talent. We‘re pissed off he is so unfit. Nothing wrong in that.

Ok. But labelling him a disgrace when we don't know the precise details regarding his injuries and how they've impacted his overall fitness is ridiculously over the top.

Dissappointed? Fine.

But a disgrace, sounds like a spoilt kid lol.

Interesting thought. I wonder if THFC factored that into his valuation and asked Lyon for a ‘lack of fitness’ discount. I mean there must be a reduction in value because French footballers don’t run as fast or as much as English ones.

So let me see - we paid 60m quid for a player on a 6 year contract who won’t be match fit for the first 12-18 months of the 6 years?

Yes, I can see how absurd that is.

I sometimes forget BC isn’t here anymore and not everything has to be over-emphasised to N’th degree. Next time I’ll just refer to Tanguy as a big wally.

Not even comparable between Sissoko and Ndombele, some of the stuff bandied around about Sissoko in his first season was hideous. Saying Ndombele is overweight and his fitness is a joke is nothing like it at all.

Not sure anyone has written anything about him off, but it's ok to be disappointed with him so far. And if we're being fair, it's better that people are upset with his fitness than his footballing ability, a lot easier to make one of those things better than the other isnt it.

That is fair.

Yeah, you are. It's utterly ridiculous that you lot put these stupid expectations on players based on a price-tag they have 0 control over - and expect immediate dividends. It has nothing to do with cars, no idea why you're rattling on about that, nothing to do with your incredible coaching record either. The guy has been injured and the club has been in actual turmoil all season - it's dumb (which I wouldn't expect from @Spurs_Bear) to expect him to have been setting the world on fire in the environment he's found himself in, just as it's lunacy to expect him to be 100% when he's had two injuries.

He's nowhere near fat or lazy either, he famously has a languid running style. Something a vastly-experienced coach like yourself should be able to differentiate between being lazy.
Our disappointment as fans was instrumental in getting our best coach in two decades the boot. Week after week people were criticising him for not starting NDombele and to a lesser extent Lo Celso. A combination of injuries and a lack of match conditioning prevented this from happening....the bloke couldn't play two in a row. Football manager has a lot to answer for

Its all according to what you expect from NDombele. If he creates goals,he is gold. Sissoko is great but a workhorse. If Ndombele can create going forward, which he can, then Sissoko can help keep the defensive side tight while also going forward and Dier as the DM.
The Toby to Son and Dele route is great but it can only work occasionally as teams more and more wait for it. We need other options and Ndombele can move the ball quick down the field

If he's fully fit I'd love to see him play because his 1st half against BMunich was quality & gave us what we lack with Dier & Sissoko. I suspect though he'll be on the bench.

I agree but if he were fit enough giving us a half and hour to an hour at the start would have been a good thing (of course not if he is just 50% healthy)

Spot on analysis. Miles and miles ahead of anyone else we have in that position. He has to be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Without Son over Christmas we're going to rely more on playing football, Tanguy and Lo Celso need to play IMO.

No. It’ll be Dier and Winks with Sissoko in AM

I made the point earlier in a previous post how I could understand Jose relying on Dier and Sissoko who are very technically limited if they were at least providing protection to our defense but they aren’t even doing that in the slightest. We need more footballers on the pitch.
