It's amazing how some of you are interpreting what Ally Gold said. Some of you need to learn how to read without inferring your own agendas onto things.

If N'Dombele applies himself the same way Winks does I honestly think we can win the league. So nothing would make me happier (in terms of football) than him staying because he wants to - but I still find it hard to believe that is the case. Do like every positive signal there is though.

Son - Kane - Bergwijn
Lo Celso - Højbjerg - N'Dombele

With the likes of Alli (who I have big hopes for this year), Lucas, Winks around.... that is as good as anything else in the PL. Easy to forget how &&"" good N'Dombele was at times in the CL for Lyon.

I don't think that article told us anything new really; wanted to add another dimension to the discussion and take his positive COVID-19 test seriously.

Recently in the news a Serbian basketball player, 27-year old Michael Ojo, died of a heart attack after a positive COVID test and recovery.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/michael-ojo-former-florida-state-center-dies-age-27/ . Ojo was 7'1" and obviously carries a lot more risk than someone like TN or, reportedly, Winks, but it does signify some concerning trends. This scientific american article also says that over a dozen college athletes have had myocardial issues post-Covid and have not seen their fitness levels return to anywhere near before having the virus.

Obviously he may be asymptommatic and recovering just fine as this issue doesn't affect everyone, but there are serious long term concerns to at least consider. Thinking about the timing of these reports, I assume the outrage from ITKs was in fact over him getting COVID and not reporting back to training, honestly. I'm certainly more worried for TN as a person after reading these articles and think we should keep the impact of COVID in mind if he can't go for a month or two.

Another possible play for us would be to extend his contract by a year and give him a one year loan away to clear his head and show what he can do while playing for a coach who will put his arm around him when needed and push him as well.

will say that there is more than a grain of truth in those comments from the Bayern board. This lad has serious talent and had he joined during the mid part of the Poch reign am quite certain he'd be going from strength to strength now

Catching Covid might just scare him into realising what a privileged position he's in and how quickly he could lose it all, giving him the impetus to make the most of it while he can.

It just comes down to whether he can do enough to impress Mourinho. That’s really it. Mourinho has been pretty clear what he expects, if he isn’t seeing that then Ndombele being on the bench or out of the team isn’t helping us.

I fear Mourinho and levy will be at odds on this one and that won’t be good. He’s a big asset if he can turn it around as he is a genius, just a flawed genius (as many are). He’s going to have to apply himself to learning the off ball and positioning side of the game, which from his time at Spurs (can’t speak much to before that as I didn’t watch much of Lyon) has been well below par. If he gets it he’ll force Mourinho’s hand and we’ll be too good to leave out.

No doubting his ability. But questionable in the effort stakes.

If he wants a career at Spurs, work your arse off and prove this to the manager. Has the ability, has he the desire ??

If not. Then Au revoir.

Might not be so simple to move on, but the decision should be straightforward. He either wants it enough, or he doesn't.

I think people forget he's also only 23. It clicks for different people at different ages. Some click early and understand the work that needs to be done, some mature later and don't "Get it" until they're older. Some never do get it. I reckon we'd regret it if we sold now, but who knows.

Well its basically mourinho wants him out but unless someone pays up we're going to try and make it work.
if Tottenham struggle to move players on and therefore bring new faces in, then the pressure will grow on cashing in on Ndombele, particularly if Mourinho pushes for it as well as the player.
Where does it say he wants him out?
Mourinho admitting publicly that he had been impressed by Ndombele's efforts during lockdown and the mini pre-season
