I feel like our season hinges on him. If he’s at the level we know he can be I feel good about top 4. If not I struggle to see that happening.

Tend to agree, and a healthy Lo Celso. Him, Lo Celso and Hojberg as our midfield trio (if they are operating to their abilities) is damn good.

I disagree that top4 hinges on him but I do think getting him to his best will elevate us significantly. I think if we get him and Lo Celso in a midfield 3 and we'll look as good as we did in that final season at the lane. Unfortunately since then our rivals have strengthened significantly but we'll see.

I now expect 10+ pages of people complimenting Ndombele’s attitude for wanting to stay and prove himself after that positive ITK.

After the last ITK, we got pages and pages of people weighing in on Ndombele, calling him fat, useless, a mercenary, etc. So it’s only fair, now isnt it?

I’m almost certain he won’t get favourable treatment on here now, though.

Salt and all, but if he's ready, willing, and committed, then well in. Hope he smashes it.

Speaking for myself only, my frustration with him came because I see how good he can be, but his work rate/fitness drove me mad. If he's committed to sorting that out and working out here, I wish him all the best and will get behind him (until he shows that's no longer the case).

In a sense, the Ndombele situation is simple. Unlike another big signing like Soldado, it’s clear that Ndombele is good enough for the league and team. It’s just matter of his fitness and motivation.

We‘ve seen in the Amazon doc the importance Mourinho puts on training well and playing hard. There’s an open midfield position for Ndombele if he's willing to work for it. Hopefully last season has humbled him and his head is on straight.

Of course he loves it here. I don't think he can imagine ever playing for a club whose stadium doesn't have a skywalk.

Of course he loves it here, he's allegedly on 200k a week...

In all fairness I think every Spurs fan would love him to produce the kind of football we know he is capable of, but it remains to be seen if he can apply himself correctly and be the best that he can be....he fell woefully short last season.

Honestly, if he gets going like we all hope he can, I see no reason we can't go for the title with a little bit of luck with injuries. A team of something like:

Lloris
Doherty, Toby, Sanchez, Davies
Gio, Hojberg, Tanguy
Bergwijn, Kane, Son

Is capable of beating anyone imo. Then we've got additional quality in the likes of Dele, Lucas, Winks, Dier.

It's an outside chance for sure, but with it being Mourinho's second season I think it's in the realms of possible.

Hopefully he makes Jose put him in side and makes spot his own. He’s incredibly talented with ball at feet and we’d have no chance of finding a replacement with his talent level, it’s all down to him now. Really hope it works out as it’ll take us to another level

Incredible amount of potential in that line up, I'd love to see it fulfil it but will take a lot of work. Love the fact that we have players like Dele/Moura not even in the 11, that's how strong our team is.

I think Jose will try to persist with Dele but I agree a midfield like that could be excellent.

That's a sexy line up (on paper) for sure. The likelihood of seeing that team even once this season is low (IMO)

I too can't wait to see TN in the starting 11, but I'm guessing it will be a while, no matter how well he applies himself in training. I think we'll see him start in the early cup and EL matches, and make the occasional cameo as a PL sub, but won't sniff the starting 11 until he shows the defensive comittment JM demands.

That team, with a healthy and giving a shit Tanguy would be so bloody good.

If he plays well in the EL and league cup games it’s not impossible he could start the Newcastle home game. He’s got a chance to completely turn around his time here in space of two weeks.
