If it’s true then it’s a disgrace. Our record signing too mentally weak for the game but is happy to keep picking his wages under. Good on Mourinho for calling him out. Fans deserve to know.
And good on lamela too

He probably was rested for this one
Mourinho didnt actually put any other creative players out there initially and was looking to play the long ball primarily

Ndombele has been nothing short of disgraceful since signing. Started the season in what looked about 2 stone overweight and totally unfit. Yes he is great going forward, but defensively his reliability is poor. It looks like neither manager has really fancied him. If he did cry off over fear of an old injury then jm has the right to call him on it. His reaction to this incident will tell us a lot, do we have kante on our hands or abother pogba?
Here is his vs Villa...

2 stone overweight ?

If we start with no creative midfielders we are just playing the long ball. Its limited. It's a tactic not a strategy.
We need players like Ndombele and Eriksen to create space

If ndombele starts vs Norwich then resting him for Brighton makes sense but if not then what on earth is going on lol

In the interview after the Brighton match, Jose said Tanguy approach him before the game and told Jose that he feel he is not able to play against Brighton due to fear of his previous injury recurring

“I cannot say he is injured, in five minutes we start a training session and you can go to the stands and watch it, he is going to be training normally so I cannot say he is injured,” Mourinho said.

“I can say that yesterday he told me he was not feeling in condition to play the game.

“Not based on injuries, based on fears of previous injuries that he has had since the beginning of the season.

“Feeling not ready to start the game, but I cannot say he is injured, I can say he is not in condition to start the game, which is different.”

And if he'd played today and tweaked something which he didn't think was sufficiently untweaked yet, certain members here would be pissing themselves at how pathetic/fat/unfit/disgraceful/etc he is. If he needs a few more days to get over whatever he felt was bothering him then so be it. If he doesn't make the bench against Norwich then we can start worrying about his future.

There’s the questions over his mentality re Lamela wanting to play and Ndombele being scared to play. Mourinho can’t be critical of Ndombele as when Lamela was out long term we have numerous ITK that Lamela was physically fit but want mentally unfit. If TN doesn’t feel confident then it would be wrong to make him play.

We need players that balance the team. I'm so bored now of buying this player or that player. We need to buy players that fit the formation . strategy of the manager.

If Ndombele doesn't then sell him. I know that's crazy because i think he will be a lovely footballer and his passing ability is some the best i've seen. But if he can only last 30 minutes each game and is never fully fit in this league and what is expected, then why waste time.

Look at Liverpool. They buy players specific to their tactics. They have 3 CM destroyers, that can all run for days and play so football and have about 6 of these to choose from, each will not look out of place.

They buy AM who can fill in for Salah or Mane, but only when they are injured, if not, they play and they seem to have no issues with that. Because they have bought players who are robust and can deal mentally and physically with the demands of this league. They just got that Japanese player on the cheap who will easily fill in for one of them and do a very good job.

We need to be more intelligent in the market. But first we need to know what our main formation is and what we really need from those players.

It seems currently, Kane, Dele, Son, Toby are the only 4 players that really meet Jose's requirements. Which is pretty scary.

TN is a phenomenal talent but he needs to play alongside a modern day DM and we currently don’t have one. We should purchase his former central midfield partner Aouar from Lyon.

I get that, i agree regarding his talent, but that's only from Ligue 1 and a few high profile Champs League games. He looks so brittle currently that i'm starting to have initial concerns that this league is too much for him. I hope we get a DM for him to play alongside, but even so, he's not really doing much to show off his talent at the moment and constant niggles/fitness concerns after half the season has passed is a little concerning for me.

He must work harder on his fitness and his mentality. If you're not fit enough, you will get injured more often. This is the case with Ndombele. If he gets more fit, he will be unstoppable.

Partnered with Tousart in a 4-2-3-1, Aouar played with them in a 4-3-3.

Too expensive plus not defensive enough. Great player.

Soumaré not the finished article and not a pure 6 but might work if we can shift Eriksen and wanyama.

More classic #6 required but I don’t know who !!
