In a lot of games he was one of the top scorers for possession won and distance run, especially from that no10 position.

Which ones? And if that's two or three games out of 32 I'd argue that I'm still expecting a lot more from a midfielder who's mainly been deployed in a central mid 2.

He's the definition of a MOTD-player. Ndombele has likely cost us as many points as Dier indirectly this season by being a passenger. Easily one of the laziest central midfielders off the ball I've seen in the prem since I began following it in 2010

This. I feel a lot of fans often only see the offensive plays he does, and think that players like him and Bale should be free to only attack, that is not how it works at all, and when you have players like that you basically play like you have a red card when opposition have the ball. This works in Barcelona and with Messi as they have the ball 90% off the time, but in a team like Spurs and PL this is destructive for the team, and would hope more fans could see this as well.

I know he wasnt playing very well beforehand but neither was anyone because of Jose but one bad half against Southampton has cost him a place in the cup final and now a place at the Euros. Thats very sad for him and one you'd imagine he will hold some form of distain towards Mason.

Taken from a sentence in a hatchet piece in the Sun but if there’s some murmurings that he wants to go then we should act on them.

I think his talent is phenomenal and that a bit of patience with him, given the volatility at the club pretty much since he signed, would be justified (see Dembele in his second and third seasons v Dembele from August 2015 onwards) but equally I do have this fear that his skill set owes far better suited to being in the middle, but his mentality just isn’t because of the way football is in this league, at least not in a 2.

I think give him one more year, hopefully not making the Euros gives him a kick up the bum and a new manager can get the system right for him to excel. He’ll still have 3 years in his deal at that point and I just don’t see us even getting our money back for him this summer. That said, if an offer that left us even did come in this summer and we could reinvest it in somebody who could hit the ground running in midfield, that could be huge. Someone like Ward-Prowse who looks ready for a top club and could play in a 2 or a 3 with pretty much all our other CM options could bring a lot of balance to the side.

I would say the stat is misleading because our game play this season was get the ball to Kane and Son. It will be interesting how many passes NDombele made that led to the assist.
what about the misleading stats that resulted in goal against because he was out of position or did not track back/got contact with a player fast enough in defense? Here is where we all call Dier and our defense shit, but in reality many of the chances comes because of a autostrada in midfield cous of lack energy and positional awareness. Noone is complaining about Ndombeles ability on the ball, it is just how destructive a midfield player that does no defending is.

Mourinho-ball was completely the wrong style of football for getting the best out of N’Dombers. Hope he gets a season under a possession based coach with us next year otherwise it was a total waste of a transfer.

I guess Mason-ball is the wrong style also because then he would be expected to press and actually move around without the ball. This is the PL, players have to have an engine and be able to adapt to different styles of play. He may be good if the team is built around him but even then I think he could be marked right out of a game. IMO, what we need is not a skillful, no work player on the field but a CM ball winner with range. PEH is good but he lacks foot speed when trying to recover. Look at what Kante has given both Leicester and Chelsea. Need to get back to the hard working TEAM (not just a handful of players) we were under the early days of Poch.

In my view we don't conceed goal 3 against Leeds if Dele was still on the pitch. There was a gaping hole for whatsiface to run into that Dele had been covering the hour or so he was on. Tanguy just made a half arsed attempt at looking like he was getting back and then just gave up. Granted the sub may have been for fitness reasons but still.

Only we could have a player of his artful ability, squander it, then see him flourish elsewhere, whilst we persist with Winks, then hope to sign someone with the creative ability to unlock a defence... Well guess what, we have that player right now and we're shooting ourselves in the foot yet again!

So what exactly happened today with he and Lo Celso?

I don't think we have another choice than to give them both another season under a more progressive manager, but its absolutely last chance for both. They both need to step up massively next season. I have no idea what to think of either of them at this point.

13 goals/assists combined between the two of them in the last 2 premier league seasons.

The truth will come out with what happened to him and lo Celso. The squad is divided at present and has been for a lot of the season, a lot of players such as Kane, Bale and PEH happy to play and win regardless but there definitely is a divide between those who were selected under Jose and those under Mason. who has the bigger influence under mason than the ones who briefed against mourinho or mason can personally relate too.

Incredibly talented and he's great to watch on the ball but I think it would be best for all involved to part ways if we can get a decent fee for him.

Not sure he's ever gonna reach his potential in English football. I'd rather we sell him and use the funds to get players who will suit our needs more.

Let’s see who the new manager will be before do anything. He may want him.

it wasn't one bad half that cost his place in the Euros and the Cup final he has been totally underwhelming for two years - I think he will be off in the summer it hasn't worked out and there has to be better options available who would balance the midfield better than he has ever done
