I think under our previous managers I would agree. However, if you look at potential midfields other teams: Arsenal's Rice, Havertz and Odegaard,; United's Casemiro, Mount and Fernandez or City's Rodri, Silva and De Bruyne they only really use one holding midfielder.

Under a more progressive manager I think there is scope to play two more creative players.

True.

Though I never view Bissouma or Bentancur as defensive and more box to box so never though if it that way.

I doubt Ange has already decided whether he’s staying or going after 3 days, but good to hear he’s giving him a look at to see if he’ll work. Would be foolish not too.

That said, if Ange’s track record is anything to go by, he won’t take long to make up his mind and will be pretty brutal cutting out Tanguy if he’s not in the plans.

Yeah I think against some of the weaker teams in the league when we dominate possession we could probably get away with it.

I mean, United got away with playing Eriksen as a CM for half the season and he's not only pretty slow but one of the most tackle-shy players I've ever seen.

Does feel weird to imagine, though, after years of managers setting us up in such a defence-minded way.

you're not alone in suggesting Biss as an 8, and box to box. But I can't remember him certainly with us or at Brighton being in the opponent's box. V happy to be corrected.

Sorry all, can't be bovvered to scroll- L'Equipe must be wide of the mark suggesting Napoli have bid E20m for NDom? Surely we'd bite their hands off

I could see the logic in Ange wanting to try and "fix" Ndombele. If he could get his stamina, work rate and desire up, with his talent he is probable a 100m pound player. Unfortunately, the chances of this happening are close to winning the lottery.

Personally, if the report was true (and I don't believe it), I think we should snap their hands off, bring in Kamada on a free and use the 20m towards bringing in 2 quality CBs. The wages we saved from Ndomebele not being on the books would probably cover Kamada and 1 of the CBs too.

The "fat" jokes are really getting boring and tedious now..

Saw one poster refer to him and Lo Celso and "N'Dombelly" and "LolCeso" in the same sentence.. Grown. Ass. Men.

I've backed N'Dombeles' technical ability since day one, the guy has all the technical attributes to be one of the best midfielders in the world, and I still stand by that. We all know his negative attributes aswell, which are mostly effort and application. If Ange thinks there's a chance of getting a tune out of him it can only benefit us as he's been mostly forgotten and written off, so to all of a sudden get a £60m midfielder back in the fold would be huge. Similar to Lo Celso too, if we somehow got them both to the level we originally thought we were buying then it's potentially massive.

My heart says it could work, but my head say's I just don't think Tanguy cares enough, at any club for that matter to take him to the level and expectation required.

I just want him cleared out along with the rest. He's been here too long and had too many chances already,
It's not a proper rebuild and refresh if we keep giving chances to players and I want this rebuild to be ruthless.

Hugo, Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Sess, Perisic and I don't mind losing Hojbjerg, even though I rate him.
I don't want Lenglet back either.
Lo Ceslo was one I previously would have given another chance because I don't think he lacked talent or application I but I think I'm changing my mind there too, probably because we should be able to get half decent money for him.

Yes, I appreciate that it's very unlikely that they all go in one window but it's what I'd like to happen.
I want a young, fresh and hungry squad again.

Two pats on the back for Tanguy....what could it mean 👀

Three times to be correct. Two in the back and one on the belly, I would say that Ange is for now holding tanguys belly to see who of them who won the gyros vs cheese room race of the day.

But like the Dele thing with Ndombele, there is a proper player there, but it’s gotta be let go.

who knows, weirder things have happened

Nothing wrong with being fat. Indeed, this legend even played for the Chavs at one point. There is hope for Tanguy.

I've got a good feeling about Tanguy. I think this year he figures it out, especially if we are playing front foot football and he just needs to be on the pitch for 60-70 min. I think he will be exactly what we need.

We fans have some real "Stockholm syndrome" thing for Ndombele. He has been disrespecting the club, the teammates by coming back overweight every single pree season thus far, Throwing things around him like a baby during open training when he gets a small tackle, clearly does not give a dam about the club and worst of all the morecambe game and you guys still want to give him a 74th opportunity to "prove" something.

And on the other hand we have Harry that has been in my eyes the perfect representation how to behave as a tottenham lad, even during the tough times he stuck his head in the ground and did the most important as a football player (play football) and god dam well.

So sick of the supporters that still back tanguy, that is a true looser mentality im my opinion.

Most of the things you just mentioned you have basically zero evidence or reports to claim this.

Mentioning Harry is quite funny, because I would say missing week of preseason trying to force a move from Spurs after our first really bad season is much more disrespectful for club and teammates than anything you just said about Ndombele lol
