Big chance for him tonight to show everyone how wrong we’ve been about him but it sounds like he’s been true to form.
If he can’t be bothered to put half a shift in in a game like that there’s absolutely no chance we’ll get any takers for him now, which probably won’t worry him too much anyway.
Please get him off the wage bill in January Mr Chairman, yes, it’ll cost us but if we can order him a reduced payout just to go away any saving can be offset on wages for someone coming in who might actually benefit us at the moment
Why would he agree to a reduced payout?

‘Reduced payout’?

That’s not how contracts work. We’ll have to pay him what he’s owed up until the end of his contract. Makes absolutely zero sense for him to accept a penny less.

I suspect he’ll be shipped off on another loan in the summer until he is finally at the end of his contract.

I watched tonight and he basically hid.

He's so low energy when showing for the ball that any team that has half decent man marking and he becomes invisible.

Also his acceleration is painful.

Don't hold out hope for anything other than a cancelled contract here.

Dunno what’s happened he’s definitely gotten way worse. Even at Napoli last year he was better than this

I think he knows Galatasaray are not taking him at the end of the loan and thats enough for him not to be motivated

Don’t know if I was overthinking it but I got the distinct impression his team mates were avoiding passing to him as well. A few times he was an option and they blanked him. Probably knowing he would amble a few yards with it, pass it 5 yards and not follow up the play.

who was the player at Sunderland that drained that club dry? Came in a big deal and wouldn't take a payout of any kind. Rodwell? was it, this guy has shades of that.

Yeah Rodwell refused to take any kind of significant reduction in pay even when Sunderland were dropping down to L1.

I did read that he'd apparently worked things out with the coach & his past couple league games had been good before that CL match though, so maybe it won't be an entirely lost season for him.

IF he is so bad (I know) why is his coach still playing him in games that really matter.

With his skillset he really could have been so much better. I was so excited when we signed him and now he's become an embarressment if all these rumours and statements are true. We won't be able to sell him, we won't even be able to loan him again. He needs paying up, and that'll probably be the end of him, in football and in general you'd think.
