Thought it was a shocking decision, never a red. He's just late, there's nothing malicious about it. Again they slow down on var and make it seem far worse. Watch it in real time and it's just a yellow. The ball bounces up, he goes for it but is just too late and catches the player. It should be overturned but of not then there's no hope.
It's definitely a red, catches the player just below the knee and misses the ball completely.

Didn't have much of a issue with him before the red card. He's still showing for the ball and moving it around fine. Its just how unnecessary both of his red cards have been. 2-0 up away and you go in knee height on a player.

He just needs to wise up. Udogies yellow was also unnecessary.

Are people writing him off? Not many that I can see but he deserves criticism for tonight.

Thought he was good against Newcastle but his form has been poor in general lately and what he did tonight is unacceptable, just like it would be if it was Romero or any other player. We need to stop being our own worst enemy.
Literally 5 posts above yours is someone writing him off.

He’s proved how good he is at both Brighton and at the start of the season where he was MOM pretty much every game.

Since that Luton game he has really struggled though and has given the ball away in dangerous situations a number of times now, costing us a goal at City and leading to the red card last night.

It would be foolish to write him off as we know he has the ability and I just hope the extended break shakes him out of this current funk he seems to be in. He’s a joy to watch when he’s on it and hopefully he comes back and shows some of that early season form again.

He let us down last night pure and simple.

With our threadbare squad and a busy schedule we can't be doing without a main midfielder for 4 games.

He's going to owe us a fair bit when we see him again in February.

Sarr was way more sloppy on the ball in the first half especially, with his touch and passing. Bissouma takes the ball in difficult areas. He could easily play the way he’s facing, easy pass, not lose the ball, but that doesn’t help the team get going. Think we’ll see the difference in the next few weeks with Skipp/PEH playing.

Still gets in our best midfield with Bentancur and Maddison

To be fair I thought he was very good against Newcastle. City I thought he played well other than a huge mistake. It was the west ham game and forest I think we're his poorer performances.

Still let's not forget how good he was up to the Luton game. He just let us down with a silly red card as to be without him, Bentancur and Maddison is a huge loss.

I think there is also an element of frustration with our boys that typically what happens, particularly in the opening 30-45 minutes of a game, the opposing team kicks lumps out of us to try to stop us and the effin refs don't do their job! 😡

I don't feel like I'm being harsh or too reactive, however he's been in pretty terrible form since Luton. Up to Luton, he was simply unplayable, however since that sending off, something has happened to him. I've seen the debate on here re who our midfield three would be when all fit but for me it's pretty simple. Bentancur, Sarr & Maddison would be my three all day long and if we have a team who are going to sit in against us, I would probably go Bentancur, Maddison & Kulusevski. I rate Bissouma, he was one of our most important players at the start of the season but he seems to have lost his confidence again. He was breezing past players for fun early doors but he's stopped doing that, Ange needs to work with him to try and rediscover that form. Maybe he's playing within himself with the upcoming AFCON.
Love this post

Slow motion makes everything look so much worse than real time. The ball is bouncing up but Yates just gets a touch which nudges it forward and then Bissouma catches him with a glancing blow. I think it's borderline but the Ref was giving everything against us. The tackle that caught Porro (which Carragher thought was funny) was also late and studs up. I'm not saying that was a red, but give it the slowmo treatment and you might have got a Gary Neville Ooooh. Yates should have been booked multiple times before the incident in any case.

As to his form, anyone would find it more difficult not having Van de Ven and Maddison around. Bissouma will be back.

The problem with Bissouma is not his form. Its over confidence & casualness that crept into his game since his good start. Him diving when already on a yellow to get his 2nd yellow is just a example of how he approaches his game.

If he cant show he has learnt and stop being arrogant, these kind of days will keep coming for him.

Bissouma is not a problem in the XI. But I would not be against buying a more better no6 in summer, if available.

Anyone saying to bin or get rid I just cant take you seriously. We are supposed to be supporters but 1 or 2 things dont go right and you instantly ditch all support and bring the pitch forks out. The same people will be crying about there is no loyalty in the game when one of our players wants to leave. Was it stupid? Yes but grow up and stop overreacting.
