Bingo. Not sure why people are laughing at this link. I have no doubt Man Utd would have him on a list of candidates. He left soton to come to us to further his career. Would he move to the biggest club in the world and triple his salary and become a rich man? I sure hope not but a player certainly would

If anyone without existing ties to either club was given a choice between United and spurs, they would almost certainly go for United. I don't think that can be denied. What I think your overlooking here though is that he wouldn't just be chosing to join United, he'd be choosing to leave us. The fact is, poch has continuously stated that he wants to build a legacy, and that he enjoys working with this group of players. He has spoken about the future and the new stadium. Obviously I don't know him personally but I would imagine after a year and a half he is settled in London. The United job may well be an attractive one, but that doesnt mean he is necessarily going to want uproot everything at this stage, especially when things are going so well. I'm generally a pessimistic fan, but I really can't see this happening.

Also I live in Manchester, it's a shithole ;-)

How this has even got to page 6 is beyond me. Newspaper writes obvious bollocks and loads of people lose their shit!? I did see on one FB group someone criticise Levy for not tying Poch down and that he must resign when Utd poach Poch! :ROFLMAO:

It's all bollocks. From this point in you can guarantee everyone will do everything possible to rock the apple cart and disrupt what looks like a very well balanced and harmonious team.

Why would any manager with even 1/4 of a brain leave a side in title contention at this stage? Even if MP has designs on leaving (and I don't for one instant believe he does), surely he'd wait till the season is over when he could potentially boast a PL title?

Nonsense!

TalkSport have picked it up now too. Ugh. Danny Kelly as well, he should know better. I know it's not up to him but he knows what TS is about, it's the Sun on radio. Not listened to any of it btw cos aside from the fact it'll be awful to listen to, Micky Quinn is co hosting.

I'm certainly not saying I think he will, or that he would want to leave Spurs right now. Just we can't laugh at the possibility. This is football, it's normally about the individual wanting more.

I think he's proven that he is far more important than any player we have so we may need to offer him a significant pay rise to keep him here. He's worth it though...
Yup. Best thing out of this is a new 5 year contract picture on the website with him and Levy

Agreed. I'm just uncharacteristically confident on this one, especially if we get CL.

Regrettably found myself listening to this earlier. Wierdly it seemed to be Kelly talking up the possibility of him going, and Quinn playing it down.

Exactly! No one is suggesting that he will or should go. But at the same time dont trivialize any attempt to poach him, regardless of how ridiculous the attempt is.

:wideyed:

That's bonkers
It still must be a first and I doubt anyone would offer poch tripple his salary even if he is great plus there is a good chance he will be offered a new deal in the summer.

A bunch of phonies, the Man Ure fans. I still remember many of them predicted Poch would get fired before the end of the last season.

Poch has no agent, he's under contract and the club wouldn't allow it, in other words complete and utter bollocks

Surely this is another... Heap the pressure on spurs, as we typically bottle it with this type f pressure?

Redknapp days, Chelsea and England links came at a similar time... Saw us just turn into poor form.

I am certain he would never join Chelsea, even if Levy would let him go which he wouldn't. They are a club that sacked Mourinho twice and fired Ancelotti in a corridor a year after he won the double.

Man U......confident but not certain.

was listening to the Spurs Show podcast tonight and David Lammy was on. He said he was at a function recently and was sitting next to Fergie who said we have the best manager in the league. If Man U are about to sack LVG, does anyone think they wouldn't seek Fergie's opinion.

It boils down to a few things

  • Is he comfortable with his relationship with levy - yes, by all accounts
  • does he have the control over the club that he wants - total control if reports are to be believed.
  • does he have the backroom staff that he wants - mitchell, mcdermott (who just turned down Man U).
  • happy with progress, clear path to success? you bet
  • Champions league football? More likely at Spurs than Man U.
  • Long terms prospects - possible champions in May (there, I said it!!), and new stadium.
On the other hand, they are Man U. That's all they have over us at the moment - huge name in world football.

So again, confident, but not certain.
