With new rumours that Poch would love to return to Spurs given the chance who would we rather have in charge ? Well, in charge of the team anyway...
‘I know there was a similar thread in November but now we have seen Conte for a few months and now apparently Poch wants to come home ( BBC talk anyway )

Conte all the way. Poch lost interest in us and his time was up. Plus he is a not very good at choosing who we should buy !

How could one even quantify who they would prefer. Poch was not super highly regarded by many in his first season and that team was booed off the pitch too.

I think we may have to give it a bit of time to see what Conte brings before any real comparison can be made in my mind anyway.

Irrelevant unless they're properly backed. Otherwise we may as well be Watford and just float along with a new coach every 12 months.

I am bored of the counter attacking football against every single team irrespective of what level/league they play in. This approach seen us get knocked out by a croatian team managed by a bloke in prison, lost to the lowest ranked side in the conference league and now out of the FA Cup to Middlesboro.

Sometimes you need people that are the right fit and i dont believe the managers we have chosen recently have been the correct ones for this club.

Agreed bit pointless having him back if nobody backed. Like someone above said Poch was mediocre first season . Contes been here a few months ! Hardly the time to think of getting rid of him

Wishing no disrespect, but how can we fairly assess who we'd prefer given that Conte hasn't had a chance to build his team yet.

Poch got us to a cup final in his first season. He only struggled for the first few months. Once he sacked off the likes of Adebayor and Kaboul we took off.

Ultimately, I don't want Poch back so it has to be Conte for me.

So far, Poch is our best manager of the Prem era but he is awful in the transfer market and wanted to be more of a DOF than a head coach. For that reason, I don't think he is right for us in the long term and he's unlikely to come back for a short period.

I hope Conte can start to make improvements once we've had a summer window and a pre-season.

I think Poch did a good job in his first season for us. With him being a bit of a systems manager I thought he'd struggle with the team he inherited. But fair play to him, he adapted and got reasonable results for us in that season and the following season he'd had a chance to get rid of some players and had a squad more in his image.

Hate this link tbh because it gives Levy yet another way out in terms of not backing Conte. Fans would riot if Antonio left then Levy would just pull the trigger on Poch to get them back onside. Then it's the same players, yet again. Poch loved Winks and Sanchez, they'd get yet another crack at it.

Then it's rinse and repeat all over again for the next two years.

Completely depends on if we were to properly back Conte. If we did then Conte.

However, unless we're going to get Conte some top top players, then for me it's pointless.

If we don't win anything or even push to win anything I'd rather Poch. Even though the football wasn't swashbuckling throughout all his time with us (like some think it was), I'd still rather that than sitting deep, not pressing and countering under Conte - even against wank teams.

I disagree. There is no magic wand for us getting top players and simply "backing the manager" is not the solution.

Our top 3 targets in January went to Juventus, Barcelona and Liverpool. We didn't miss out on these players because Levy didn't put up the money.

But we still bought 2 players that Conte happily accepted. Poch was the one who appeared to demand players out of our reach.

Conte all day long. Back him big time in the summer. The first team squad is the problem not the coach. He needs at least 4 first team upgrades, mainly players who are experienced and suited to his system.

RWB
LWB
LCB
CM

We also need another WF and another CF to provide backup and competition.

Would love to see Poch come back, but right now we have an elite manager who needs backing.

I think my point was more around style of football. I think Conte needs top players to win. And I'd love us to win something. Anything!!
If we're not going to win anything under Conte then, because I don't particularly like his football style, I'd rather Poch. Who also didn't win anything but for me I'd rather watch us dominate the ball and have a bit of a go most games - even if we didn't win anything.

For me Conte's style needs to get us over the line because I just find the way we play under him really boring. Just my opinion

Fair point. My big concern with the hiring of Conte was he is used to managing at the top end.

I don't know too much about Conte's previous jobs in terms of playing styles so will reserve judgment until next season.

Poch was great but we didn’t win anything when we had:

Lloris
Walker Toby Verts Rose
Dembele Wanyama
Eriksen Dele Son
Kane

I reckon Conte would have won something with that team. We just need recruitment to get Conte a team close to that again.

THIS! this is what conte needs to do, stop picking the under performing players and dip into our youth academy. mix of hungry players & senior pros hugo/romero/dier/sonny/kane think we'd start seei g positive results again. alas conte wont play youth!
