And in terms of consolidating in the CL places, only Chelsea out of the three below us gained any points on us (only 1 though) and we had by far the hardest game out of them all.

Another positive - we're going to win the FA cup and gain an automatic Champions League place in one season!

At least we're the only team in the top five who don't have European games coming up to distract us!

I was proud to be a spurs fan today, I thought at times we dominated Citeh unlike any other team at the Etihad this season. A win doe snot kill out title ambitions but severely dents ours hopes. Sadly Citeh will continue to throw stupid money at it and then all the players seeing kissing their badges will be replaced by ever more expensive players. They're not football club, they are just a Billionaires play thing.

It's the first time I have been in a pub and everyone in there was cheering spurs on regardless of who they supported. Proud.

What is there to be massively disappointed about anyway.

Before the penalty we were getting a draw at best, so only one point lost in my opinion.

We lost to the league leaders who have assembled an incredible squad with incredible wealth....so no shame there.

Arsenal lost, so we are no worse off than before the match.

Our run in to the end of the season looks very nice indeed.

People can sit with their rose tinted glasses if they want, but from my point of view I have always said this season I would be happy with top 4 (preferably top 3 to avoid that tricky CL qualifier). So as far as I'm concerned this weekend has been ok for us considering the results for Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Newcastle. Therefore I remain pretty positive about my original desire for this season.

All the ifs and buts are embarrassing. The positive from this game is the gutsy way we came back. At the beginning of the season we capitulated against both City and United when they scored their first goal. The confidence we have within ourselves as a team now is lightyears from that early stage of the season and we now look the real deal. A team who truely is a match for anybody, and i'm not talking about the old "on our day" cliche. We are on the fringes of being a really top side. Granted they had a couple players out but we had more of the game overall in my opinion and they were at home and top of the league so i'd say that evens things out. We didn't have Ade either.

- Kaboul dominated in the air, again.
- 2 great goals from Defoe and Bale
- Fighting spirit against the league's 'best' team
- Friedel actually came off his line a few times to punch or catch!
- If we perform like that away from home against Chelsea, Goons and the Scouse lot then I'm confident we can gain points.

Defoe scored against the leagues leading side by going around the keeper away from home.

At the start of the season, our target was Champions League i.e. at least 4th. Today, we are still very, very much ahead of our target. We're 3rd, and are currently 10pts ahead of the 5th placed team, and what makes it sweeter is that its Arsenal.

And we're the best team in London. COYS!

I was most impressed by the team's will not only to tie the game, after they were twice "kinked" in the nuts, but to try to win it till the very last moment. Not so long ago we would have been glad to get a point and just play it around or just park the buss till the final whistle. Yes it cost us this time, but it is a good start.

I know this is a positivity thread and all, but especially in the first half without Ade up front we lacked any sort of threat through the middle. So even though we did dominate in the first the few times Aguero, Silva, Nasri got some time on the ball in front of the back 4 we were in trouble. That's what City got more than anything to me - real proper edge up front. And then they can bring on the asshole that is Balotelli as well.

However, still think we'd deserved at least the point. Defoe should've made it 3-2 and both Lescott and Mario lucky to be on the pitch in the end in my opinion. Real shame we didn't take this to really put ourselves in the title race, but still very proud. Should have the same team next season as well, mind you, with one or two additions we'll be even harder to beat.

COYS!
