The league is certainly much tougher this year.

Chelsea are more 'together', Leicester have vastly improved, Sheffield United are a very hard working and organised team who get at teams, Palace won't let points go easily and Brighton are even a more vibrant team this year, even Villa are fighting.

Because our intensity and drive has dropped, all of these teams are very very capable of beating us. Whereas two seasons ago if we dropped in intensity it meant we'd scrape a 2-1 win instead of coasting to a 4-0 win. This season all of these lacklustre performances are being thoroughly punished.

If the above is correct then Mane joined Liverpool for 10k a week more than we signed Sissoko for.

Are we really saying the only reason we miss out on every target is simply because Levy doesn't pay enough? Are we really arrogant enough to think no player could want to join Liverpool more than ourselves?

It feels as if this season is going to be a mess while everyone gets used to VAR. The early rounds have been ruined by weird decisions that are now, slowly, being undone. Son's offside and Firmino's offside are fairly similar but this penalty and one last week vs Lascelles on Kane or Lascelles on (I think) Van Dijk the week after which weren't given. Points lost to rulings that no longer apply.
