Both goals are because all the defenders leave him free in space. I could have scored them and believe me I’m shit. Whatever happened to defenders picking up forwards when they are in the box. It does my head in that game after game I see a team’s top scorer left in acres of space in the box by defenders as the ball is crossed. When they are in the box a defender has to be touch close to the most dangerous forward. I don’t believe modern defenders know how to defend. Modern coaches are more obsessed with their defenders being ”good on the ball” rather them being good defenders.
He’s a top forward for just that reason - he finds space. If a defender follows him into that position, an Alvarez or a Bernardo is making a run in to the space vacated.

I always love opening day. Head down the Oak with the lads for opening, catch the midday KO with a beer and a burger, couple more bevvies with soccer Saturday on the screen, then the late KO. Then off down New Malden high street for Korean BBQ. Suffer the next morning, then watch the Sunday afternoon matches on the sofa with a roast in the middle, finished with my bi-weekly 7aside match in the evening.

Good times.

"First game of season new ticketing system and electronic ticket readers have failed

They’ll have to delay - thousands of us stuck outside"

Probably trying to usher local shoppers and randoms into the stadium so they can hit their usual 90k attendance lol. Same as usual, lunchtime asteroid strike would be most pleasing. ****s.

Knowing that lot, the ones that have made it inside will soon be asked to exit an re enter, that way they can count them twice.

It's kinda funny, don't want to laugh but the Shakhtar game was my first visit to the stadium for an actual match and both my old man and uncle, dude's in their 70's, breezed through the ticket barriers and were commenting on how impressed they were with it.

Did our stadium have any problems with it at all when we first started using it?

Lol at the gooners locked out of the death star because they ran out of AWS credits. Given our mood today, that's cheered me nicely.

Come on forest.
