Isn't the right thing to wait until they have been charged before deciding they can't continue to earn a living in their chosen profession? They aren't doctors teachers or social workers and so you aren't putting people at potential risk by them going into work. You wouldn't expect a bricklayer to be laid off because someone had simply made an allegation of assault against them.
They could be 'rested' whilst continuing to receive their salary.

For how long, Indefinitely? The case involving the "London based player" has been investigated for how long now without charges, charges that may never come. We have to remember some of those that are accused are actually the victims and did nothing wrong.

Fair points but how else do you dispel the feeling that the money, etc., for the PL clubs is more important than the supposed crime ?

You don't. and I doubt very much it is. These things can take a long time regardless of whether the accused is from a Premier league football club or works at supermarket. The only difference is in the media coverage. It's my opinion the media shouldn't be allowed to publish any of it until charges are drawn up, and that is regarding all cases not just the ones involving famous people.

Its a tricky one.
On one hand, if they have done wrong they should absolutely be hung out to dry, publically and if a club has stood by and played the player then they too have their name sullied.
BUT, things are often weighed heavily (and many would say rightly so) in favour of protecting the alleged victim and due to social media nothing stays secret. This ends with the alleged perpetrators name being in the public domain without being confirmed and being deemed innocent via a trial by social media.

Whether Mendy truly was innocent, or not, he was castigated and demonised and lost a number of years of a relatively short career.
Is that fair to protect others when there is a possibility its the footballers who needed protecting?

Whilst I generally agree with this, if a person isn’t named before a charge is decided, there may be other victims who were too weak or worried to report a crime on their own, who may be encouraged to come forward because the person has been named.
I don’t believe there is an absolute answer in this sort of case, but the conviction rate in sexual offences is so low because of the burden of proof, I think naming is warranted.

Could someone please tell me why there are now 5 games on a Saturday and 5 on a Sunday - rather than most matches being on a Saturday? Is this a permanent thing?

TV being the obvious reason but there were 3 teams playing in Europe on Thursday, so those matches drive the Sunday fixtures too.

I wouldn't say it's a permanent thing but it does feel more and more games are being played on Sundays...

I thought not being in Europe would mean pretty much all our games would be a 3pm Saturday kick off.

It's heart-warming to see everything coming together for Arsenal as our season collapses around our ears. Oh wait, no it's not.

Switching off the Arse match, just proving we need to be more clinical in the early parts of any match

Pull yourself together man!!
Arsenal are well ahead of us and are finally playing the type of football Lego head wants them to play. We’re just starting and have actually made a better start than them compared to when Lego head first went there. I was not expecting much from us this season but have been pleasantly surprised with how we’ve been doing. The Jan window will be a big indicator as to if Levy will back Ange in the areas needed to most (we all know what’s needed so no point going over that)

COYS!!!

Surprised you put it on, them smashing wolves was inevitable today. Wolves are pretty poor. Everyone will go over the top like usual but they should be beating this wolves team comfortably at home.

I don't know why teams don't try to have a go at the scum more. They can definitely be pegged back if teams actually try.

The other 3 o/c matches were not very inspiring TBH. Too cold to work outside on my Van, lit the fire and a novel for a few hours.
