I wouldn't disagree with you but it would fairer to rise to their level through endeavour on a level playing field.
If they are better than everyone else then surely they don't need the advantage of an extra £30m every year.
In fact there is an arguement for saying that the only fair way to beat this uneven bias is by doing it the way chelsea did and nullifying the massive distortion in income.
I personally believe that Villa, Everton & Man City will still be around the same position in 3 years time.
We of course, will be Champions by then!!
The trouble is that teams below us could argue that we shouldn't need the advantage of £30 million over them. After a quick look at the Deloitte Rich List we are now 11th with the fifth largest income in the Prem.
I doubt that there are too many of our fans that would be willing to donate large sums of our income to Blackburn or Pompey to level the playing field.
Although Chelsea gatecrashed into the top four using Abramovich's millions, Liverpool managed to do it on the field and this is the example we need to follow.
Interestingly, they managed to do it off the back of winning the CC, UEFA and FA cups whilst underperforming in the league.
If we can follow in their footsteps of winning the CC and UEFA then I think it would serve as a similar springboard into the higher echelons ourselves (keeping players/attracting new players/increasing revenues/confidence going into the start of next season etc).
