On a completely unrelated and inconsequential note why do we tend to get shortened to Spurs, but they put AFC Bournemouth and Newcastle United? Are they worried if they didn't people might confuse those clubs with the other football teams in Bournemouth and Newcastle?

Always been the case. Our nickname is unique and probably the most memorable. Danny Blamchflower has more detail on this ?

This restart might well go down in flames yet. How have the referees not been tested? This is a crucial part to the restart that the league has just ignored the last month. Having the first test be almost a week away seems incompetent.

Don't see the problem really. I am sure there are more refs available then needed on a matchday. If one is positive then he can be ruled out.

It really is one of the most dumbest things to hear, its just absurd this hasnt been done.... Also one thing ive not really seen addressed is the spitting players do during the matches, silly stuff being banded about regarding turning face while tackling and trying to maintain social distancing on pitch where possible, spraying the shit out of ball to disinfect but nothing from the football authorities on spiting highlighting probably the most obvious element to spread any virus/bacteria.... if you could change the craid david song 'Re Re - .....' followed by another 4 letter combo instead of wind comes to mind about all of football authorities from fifa, uefa,to all national fa's

Not an issue at all. unless 60% of referees have virus, we have enough to fulfil the games (and even if 60% did, they could put Championship referees on the games.

Next they'll be saying "maybe we should test the coach drivers that will be driving teams to matches"... :wacky:

We can leave that till the day of the game though :cautious:

(i mean it's not like they will be with the players in a confined space for hours at a time or anything...)

just like normal. I can remember back a few years when I think Boro couldn’t get a team out against Blackburn because of injuries and illness.
And got relegated because they were docked points for failure to fulfil the fixture.
