Race for The Top 10

Close this thread, we will be lucky to finish top 10 at this rate. We should all just hibernate to mid August and pretend this season didn't happen.
Better off closing it all down then - transfer window and all.

Who wants to support this club any more? Boooooooooo!

We were pretty ambitious this summer, weren’t we?

sort of. glc and tango were pretty ambitious signings. two of the top talents in europe.

but given that we’d just reached a CL final, had glaring weaknesses in the squad that weren’t addressed, and had an ageing and out of contract back line, probably not. i don’t think those two signings were the ‘painful rebuild’ envisaged by the previous manager. but all this is for another thread no doubt!

its odd. especially when we were what, a couple of good signings away from being really really successful? and consistent.

their ambition doesn’t match the fans. and it wont change. expect an underwhelming summer while Man Utd, Chelsea, Leicester, Wolves continue to move ahead of us.
The signings of Bruno Fernandes and Ziyech have already started this process

So Fernandes and Bergwijn don't count for us and we're behind already?

I couldn't follow any sporting team and be this fucking negative all the live long day. I'd rather off myself I think.

I've said it in another thread, but I can't see us winning any of our remaining games without proper strikers in the side.

And I'm not a doom and gloom guy by nature.

Funnily enough though, I'm still optimistic for next season, with key players back.

But this season is a write off and it was born in the summer of '18

The season is done, we likely finish 8th or 9th IMO..
Could do with missing out on EL too but not sure how much this impacts our summer dealings
stop going on about top 4 though - zero chance!

Bit OTT?
I don't think our Fernandes is in the same league as Bruno- my opinion- . Yes, Bergwijn looks promising but I think , given the choice, most would have picked Ziyech( VDV certainly would).

I'm not talking like for like I'm talking about our own business for what our manager wants Vs others? If they're getting started early ... We bought our central players in the summer ... No?

Like I said, negative takes ... OTT? Nah.

@Hercules don't follow the thought process on this one - you'll have to enlighten me.

So discussions to move the Euro's to next year are to happen on Tuesday which potentially free's up the summer.

I wonder if that then leaves the door open to postpone Premier League games which could be a game changer for us in terms of getting our best players back.

That’s far too sensible a thing for the PL & FA to do though isn’t it

The Italian and Spanish leagues, the CL and EL, and all American sports leagues are suspended. There will be tremendous pressure on the FA to follow the same course.

If the league gets suspended until the summer I like our chances. With Kane, Son, and Bergwijn back we'd definitely be in with a shout.

Would still be a big ask, but it’s doable.

Our NRL (National Rugby League) here in Oz is one game old and already the second game is being talked about as being held behind closed doors and if it worsens which it will, the NRL may be suspended or called off.

So what about the PL ? Scousers miss out on winning the PL which I find pretty funny but more importantly, do Spurs retain their UCL qualification for next season ?

1,000% these are the types of players we needed to be signing not Gedson Fernandes and Bergweign, its not good enough for where we now want to be.
Ziyech will be 27 before he joins Chelsea. We cant afford to spend that kind of money without the resale value and potential profit we got with Bergwijn.
