Brilliant Sophie's Choice question but although I hate Chelsea more than Arsenal (for various reasons) the risk/reward just isn't worth it. Chelsea would just come straight back up but we'd be living with the scum victory for decades.

Solution: kill them both.

Yes - I, like every good Spurs fan, hates the scum. But they are a reasonably well run club who are trying to do things the right way. Given that if they win the PL it will be because they beat City then I'd be able to stomach that, on the basis that the absolute wank stain of a club - Chelsea, get relegated. In fact there are quite a few things I'd stomach to see that club go down, it would be glorious.

As funny as it would be, Chelsea would just come up next season and after that it is pretty much null. Arsenal winning the league would be immortalised and in a social media era we'd never hear the end of it.

Yes.

Arsenal are Arsenal, but in recent history Chelsea have fucked with us far too much. Winning the CL when we finished 4th, so we had to drop into Europa. The battle of the Bridge, and the likes of Hazard and Fabregas actually saying they wanted to stop us winning the league, after they'd being playing shit all season. Ruining Pochettino.

Fuck Chelsea.

I'd love to see Chelsea and Boehly humiliated and all of the financial and FFP implications relegation would bring.

Chelsea would be promoted back in a year so it would only be a laugh for 5 minutes. Whereas Arsenal is a lifetime of being reminded

Controversial opinion alert:

I’d take Arsenal winning the PL to get Chelsea relegated. We all dislike Arsenal but more in a they-are-shit-dickhead-brother sort of way. We don’t like to admit it but we are very similar clubs. And I’m sorry to say the fans are very similar too. Arsenal winning would be annoying but also proof that we can win it too in an age of nation-state clubs.

Chelsea, however, is like a nasty bully. Their fans are horrid and anti-Semitic. Their success was built on the poverty of the Russian people.

And while a PL title provides glory for a day, relegation provides misery for at least a year.

I rest my case.

Imma stop you right there. Remember the NLD where Kane scored that goal? Well I saw that in The Regent in Balham with a mate (Everton) and as the match got under way this sneery little guy stood in front of where my mate was sitting. My mate politely asked him "sorry, would you mind stepping to one side, I can't see now". The gooner (for he was one) saw me in my Spurs top, smirked at my mate and just went "no" and turned away. Me and my mate looked at each other in amused disbelief, and he, in his broad Scottish accent "d'ye mind moving out of the way pal, or d'ye wanna discuss it ootside?" The **** did a poor job of disguising his initial papping of his pants with a scoff, before fucking off to the other side of the bar.

Later, when that goal went in, it was abundantly clear that the pub was about 75% Spurs and it duly exploded. But I saw the snivelling little div rolling his eyes and laughing "oh look at the Spuds celebrating a rare goal, how quaint...". Complete little turd-blossom.

And that is why we are nothing alike.

Absolutely not. Insanity that people would accept that as a compromise. Chelsea would come straight back up. If arsenal win the league we will never ever hear the end of it. I couldn’t give a fuck how well run their club is or how nice their style of football is. Then winning the league would be unbearable.

I can't stomach the shit that's going on with our club and unfortunately I only have one stomach.

Arsenal won't win the league anyway............I wonder if they will take the "legends" title from us :cautious:

Edit: own up, who's screwing with me? I type bo**ler's and it comes up as legends

No. Chelsea would bounce back to the prem straight away and it would be almost forgotten. Arsenal would be banging on about it for years (and deservedly so). So, a big 'no' from me.

EDIT - I'm genuinely surprised the poll is only 60/40.

^poll question

just a bit of fun really, nothing serious, intrigued to see the poll results.

Chelsea could feasibly lose every game in their run-in, although it’s very unlikely the other relegation fodder will pick up enough points to put them in the drop-zone. Some of those relegation fixtures will affect the title race, though, with arsenal playing notts forest and wolves while Man City play West Ham and Leeds - so who knows, stranger things have occurred…

Although I would Kevin keegan love it for chelsea to get relegated and possibly miss out on pochettino as a result, I don’t think I can accept it alongside arsenal winning a trophy, so I’ve gone no.

(I don’t think we have much to play for now, so let’s not worry about where we finish in this scenario.)

(Votes not public, so be truthful…)
Could we add some kind of neutral answer to the poll such as "not bothered"
