Wow. The only man to win a trophy is 14th

Personally I put Harry above Poch when you consider the difference in squad ability
Are you for real.
Poch got Tottenham to a CL final stop and think about that. Finished 2nd 3rd 4th played in Cup finals saw us through to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium via Wembley Developed Kane Son Dele Eriksen.

yeah list seems about accurate taken from this point in time. I'd hope Conte ends up no 1. by the end of next season having one something major as well as finishing top 4 but we'll see

yeah no contest, until someone finishes 1st in the league or wins some trophies he's gonna be hard to displace

AVB at number 5 describing his time with “it was a hugely entertaining season” seems deeply wrong to me. I’d say his time was the least entertaining time I have ever experienced of being a Spurs fan. Crushingly dull matches where we passed the ball from side to side without ever looking like scoring, only to be bailed out by an incredible Gareth Bale goal out of nothing.

AVB must have fantastic interview skills because he has had some great jobs and done nothing.

21 wins, only 9 losses and 8 draws so couldn't have been that bad actually.
66 goals, fifth highest in the league also (bale responsible for 21 of those before folks say it was all him)

think it's the second season that gets stuck in the memory, and he didn't see that all the way through. just ahead of Tim sherwood seems about right to me

Decent list tbf. Glad to see AVB recognised, for his first season at least...easy to forget how good/unlucky we were there, and those signings listed turned out to be some of our very best.

Top five look right, but I'd have Francis in sixth and Sherwood in the bottom three just above Nuno and Santini.

This isn't just because of my personal antipathy toward the man (although, let's face it, it might be), it's about how long it took the entire fanbase to suss that he wasn't good enough to be manager of Tottenham. Nuno's decision making was booed vociferously after ten league games. Santini lasted eleven. Sherwood got the 'Where is our Manager' chant at Anfield after fifteen. When the entire away support is chanting its disbelief at the amateurish antics of the man supposedly in charge, then it's clear he shouldn't be there.

Yeah, yeah, 59% win rate, but that was largely against teams that squad should have been beating with their eyes closed. Sherwood's Spurs played six matches against the top six and won one against David Moyes' Manchester United, losing the other five, with a total aggregate score of 3 goals for and 17 against. That's a disgraceful record, worse even than Nuno's (one win, three defeats against the top six). Can't say I particularly appreciated Sherwood's two defeats in two games against West Ham either. Guy was a charlatan from day one and I'm glad we only ever had to suffer him for half a season.

Conte is no 1

He is in no way number one (yet). He is perhaps in terms of his credentials but I think for him to be above Poch in particular with 'achievements' I think longevity i.e. three to five years and a cup or two then perhaps would be at the tope of the tree.

Poch did have a wonderful team and squad and we fell at the last hurdle a few times but we were great at the time.

Harrys time was enjoyable... loved that era

I'd just change the top 3:
  1. Poch
  2. Conte
  3. Redknapp
I originally had Conte at #1 and do think he will prove to be our best manager, but when you take a step back and consider exactly what Poch achieved, with very little backing financially, he is the stand out at this point in time:
  • CL Final
  • League Cup Final
  • FA Cup Semi-Final x 2
  • 5th, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th in PL.
Obviously he fell short of winning a trophy, but from 2016 - 2018 we were the best team in the country. In terms of football played, in terms of gaols scored, and in terms of goals conceded. If Conte stays for a couple more years and wins us a trophy then he will go above Poch, but for now, Poch is #1.

(And if it was just about trophies then Graham and Ramos would top the list).

I'd put Redknapp above Conte for now.

Obviously Conte is a better manager than 'Arry, but 2/3rds of a season isn't enough to go ahead of a manager that got us into the CL for the first time, then the quarter finals, and finally killed the Arsenal and Chelsea hoodoos. The Redknapp era was an amazing time to be a Spurs fan and so much fun - we haven't quite reached those heights under Conte just yet.

The ceiling is far, far higher under Conte but he needs to do more at Spurs, otherwise you're simply putting him above Redknapp based on reputation and potential IMO. That said, if we keep improving at our current rate Conte could go all the way to the top.

No mention of David Pleat? As post Hoddle caretaker, he was there longer than some permanent appointments!
