This team did not compete at all. It is a travesty that this straight red card for violent conduct suggests there was a battle of some sort going on.
And It was a pathetic attempt at violence. Son really is the Asian Beckham.

Dier is meant to be our enforcer and I can understand why he shields rather than risk missing a tackle. But this was a derby and I expect some physical engagement. Where was the player who should have been sent off 3 times at the battle of the bridge? Generally where was the cynical rotational fouling that we were promised by the guardian?

Eriksen fizzed the ball around and livened things up but his delivery is still shocking and he could be gone in a few weeks. So he is of no interest.

Ndombele makes good progress but makes his life hard by continually so nearly giving the ball away and having to fight for it again. No wonder he gets tired. He did nothing in this game that led to anything but we got to give motm to someone.

Every player deserves to get panned for such a woeful display, but Mourinho deserves the biggest panning possible for continuing to pick Dier and Sissoko in a pivot midfield when we've been battered there every time apart from Burnley.

Hmm so Jose mebbe yesterday's man they say . Doesn't look too modern to hopefully lump balls to the forwards(without a Drogba) . Well , we'll wait and see how Jose adjusts to new realities . His Dier passion due , presumably, to how Dier used to play is a bit embarrassing. Jose's mind in 2019 or 2015 (or earlier) we wonder ? At least he didn't stop the post match presser to do a long public apology to Dier for taking him off ! So mebbe he's slowly making progress .

Its broken record time I'll repeat my Toby quote one more time . ' Without our energy we are just ordinary' . Says it all for me . This Poch team that Jose always plays is built around effort and energy . Take our exceptional work ethic away as in 2019 and we're done .

So we face a Chelsea team who have expensive players/wages , with great technique . The difference in technical ability was often starkly evident .
Hang on you say..we have bought an expensive player , Ndombele . Yes we have ,he came on and was a country mile more comfortable on the ball than the rest of our team . I just don't see Jose getting the required energy out of our Poch team so as sure as shit he is going to be after Levy for expensive players to make his system work . Its how he has always operated .

How Levy will react will be interesting eh..
