Good win but if we are to push on we need to be so much better when we have possession.

Romero just outstanding and edges Son for the MOTM, tough on Son again as those two finishes were pure quality plus an assist.

Kulu added plenty when he came on and Showed what we’d been missing with Moura who was sadly just appalling, with most moves involving him breaking down because of him.

Davies solid apart from his mistake and he was fortunate it didn’t cost, similarly Dier solid but Vardy got above him far too easily. Wingbacks did ok as did PEH and Bentancur who covered some serious ground.

Kane clinical on the header but wasn’t his best day and gave ball away too often.

Winks in his cameo demonstrated why he shouldn't have a future and offers little, beaten far too easily on their goal.

Romero MOM. He’s not a defender, he’s a mafia hit man! He just intimidates the opposition.
I don’t think that’s it. It’s more that he surprises, ambushes them. He doesn’t prevaricate, one minute he’s not there, the next he’s flown into a tackle that no one expects a defender to make. He just doesn’t stand off and defend space, which surprises attackers. He’ll pick up plenty of cards, but that’s OK for a player that’s so disruptive.

I think both are true. I think a lot of forwards did not know much about him and have been surprised / ambushed. But they certainly know about him now! I reckon forwards must hate playing with their back to him as he is so aggressive.

I think the idea that any Prem player is intimidated by another is a bit fanciful. My point was that I don’t think Romero’s presence changes attackers’ behaviour, because he largely isn’t present. Until he is, and then it’s too late. You don’t see attackers running away from him, you see them running into space, only to find there’s less space than they thought, and more studs.

He’s playing a different game to every other defender. It almost reminds me of Hugo when he came in and played the “sweeper keeper” role far more often than any other keeper. I’ll be interested to see how he does next week as it’ll be a massive test for him. I love his style but if something goes wrong, he really risks a red.

On Hojbjerg, I’m not his biggest fan but thought he was one of our best players yesterday. Kept showing for the ball very cleverly in the first half when we were struggling and continually broke up play. He gets a lot of stick but I thought he was excellent yesterday.

Was pleased to see Royal do ok yesterday after the stick he’s taken. Some of the crowd have decided on him though. First half Hugo played a hospital ball to him waist high and Leicester closed him and not one of our players helped him out. Messi would have lost it in those circumstances. Inevitably, Royal lost it and the lad behind me went on a 5 minute tirade about how shit he is. Mad stuff.

Romero and Son both 9
Kulu 8
Kane 6.5 (would have been 5.5 without his goal)
Wingbacks & Davies 6
Everyone else 7

Maybe because if Son, Kane, Kulusevski or Bentancur / Højbjerg get injured he will need to rely on his senior backup - Bergwijn, Moura and Winks. By putting kids on in front of them, after some very hard and committed training sessions would be a slight and lose their motivation at a very key stage of the season.

Yeah I'm sure Moura and Bergwijn are hyped to play for Conte right now as it is.

Romero was great today and feel that he is vital to our success.
Good to see Royal was less shit than last week.
I noticed that the motd commentators used my exact wording from a post of mine suggesting Romero’s performance was infectious. Wonder if they trawl these threads?

Put kids on over them would be incredibly unprofessional. It would be such poor management. By all accounts Conte has them all giving everything in training. Rodon, Sanchez, Moura, Winks, Bergwijn etc. even though most need to be moved on, and probably will be this summer, they still deserve professional respect.
