I think its time to end the Jol love in.

Ramos in place last summer and we would have been playing CL next season!

Jol squandered what we had and my opinion on the job he done at Spurs is going down by the game.

Compare what your head and your heart told you about spurs at the end of last season with what you felt before BMJ took over.

There now, doesn't that feel better? Nice not to feel fickle, spoilt and delusional? Good.

JR is proving to be the better coach, no doubt, but BMJ laid the foundatios for success for which you "legend" could be a little more grateful.

Cerny 8 - commanded his area very very well apart from the last corner but still it wasn't his fault , but he still did well and made a great save plus some decent ones.

Hutton 8 - a great debut, in terms of attacking and defending, really waited so long for right back like that as he also covered his area very well against very skillfullplayers.

Dawson 6.5 - may be he was solid, but I was annoyed because he looked he can't learn from his mistakes, i'm not just talking about their goal, it is also about what he did with Van der Sar which he could easily booked !!

Woodgate 7.5 - did solid job. Nice to see us not conceded any goal in 180 mins with him !

Chimbonda 8.5 MOTM - not just consideringto his out of his position, Pascal played very good game in left and I'm amized by his full commitment. I think he tried his best in def. and attack. Let alone his fine tackles from Tevez and denied him a clear chance to score earlier equaliser !

Huddlestone 7 - i know he involved too much and was good when involved, but i saw him in CM role more than DM which we didn't see the best of Jenas ( as we saw when JJ played alongside TT ) , I Huddlestone didn't positioned well this game as there are some spaces between the def. and Mid. ( it was clear in 1st half but Man Utd didn't benfit from that as they used old and slow players like Giggs and Scholes, in 2nd half we threatened at times near the box and Mr. Ramos share the blames for that as he didn't took use O'Hara earlier to stop Man Utd.

Jenas 7.5 - played well and involved in our goal. Could have an assist when Vidic booked. I'm happy to see him improved recently.

Malbraqnue 7 - in terms of defending, he played very well and helped Chimbonda. But in terms of attacking, as winger, I think he should be able to do better in bad day for their defenders. The is the next area we should improve next transfer window. ( sorry steed )

Lennon 8 - He made Evra very bad in 2nd game in one week. Good assist for our goal and did his job in terms of attacking or defending. ( Already liked his work with Hutton on right ! )

Keane 7 - good movment around the pitch and played well in 1st half to arrange the attack. He also chased their players too much in second half. But he should improve his kicking power as he missed a great chance to kill them off. ( RK kicking power needs some working in training to improve him into World class striker )

Berbatov 7.5 - Tired their defenders ( specially Rio ) and made good chance for Keano, I know he tried his best in terms of defending ( like set peices ).

can't rate Boateng or O'Hara because they were too late !

Ramos 7 - Good team selection, I liked him too much for what he did until now. He really proved his worth as he made us very diffecult to beat even against top 4 club. But it is important to tell the truth he costs himself to beat Man Utd when the 3 pts were in his hands.
1- First, taking Lennon off after good job with Hutton. ( * he was still a threat for Man Utd in counter if stayed longer )
2-Second, Not using O'Hara earlier to tired their skilfull players with his chasing.
3- He changed the system to 4/5/1 against weaker opponent in Fulham when we were 3-1 and not suffered a heavy pressure by them. Why not against Man Utd when they played better and only 1-0 ?
4- He saw Man Utd struggled against Skillfull or pacy players likes Berba and Jenas/Lennon, he could easily beat Man Utd in counter if he took Malbranque or Keabe off for Taraabt who looked he can troubled them if needed ( refreshing the legs could be important some time )
5- When it was corner in added time, he could benfit from a 3rd subs to calm our players and helping them to mark their men. I really thought he will do it during the game !

anyway, Thanks a lot Mr. Ramos for what you did until now.

cheers for all !

look mate, im sorry, but thats just such a crap thing to say. Just because you like someone better, it doesnt mean you have to like someone else less. There is no balancing needed. Jol Was excellent for us, we got someone better now.

Is it time to end the Nicholson love-in? or the Hoddle, or Gazza, or Ginola love-ins? cant you apreciate past players/ management without belittling their achievments as soon as someone better comes along?

I'm torrenting the game now as I've just watched Match Of The day on Sky+ and they made it look like Man U battered us. Having read all the comments on here, I'm desperate to see the full game now. How can they edit these things so badly? And they say Big Brother has an agenda…

I would say that we were easily the better team in the first half. Second half they were over us like a rash for the first 10 minutes, til we got back into it. Then they really came at us for the last 15 minutes, and only some great last ditch defending stopped them from scoring.

Overall we just shaded it performance wise.

I made Huddlestone my MoM but it was close between him, Steed, Chimbonda, Woodgate and Lennon. It was a fine team performance although I think that United probably just about deserved a point. There was certainly an inevitability about their equaliser.

Our performances over the last four games prove that we can compete with the best. I'll be really disappointed if we don't win a cup this year and think that 5th is still a possibility this season. One or two signings in the summer and we should make a real challenge next season.

Good to see a Jolist continuing to stomp his feet in the big fellas defence despite what Ramos is doing with individual players that looked little more than average under Jol.

No doubt you'll be in the camp slagging Levy & Kemsley when in all likelihood Berba leaves in the summer. When actually the blame will lye firmly at the door of Jol for fucking up this seasons Premiership campaign by sending out a disgracefully prepared team at the start of the season.

This club should be at worst in the mix fighting for a CL place next season which if we achieved it would giveus every chance of keeping an exceptional player. The fact that we may not even be in Europe at all makes Levy's job of keeping Berba 100 times more difficult, with CL we would have every chance.

The fact that we aren't in the race for a CL place in a season where 4th is wide open is down to 1 person and 1 person only, Martin Jol.

I've enjoyed reading it all on here after Levy fired the fella..

Jol will be managing a bigger club within a month
Jol will be Hollands manager
Jol will be manager of Ajax next month
Jol is nailed on to be the Newcastle manager after Sam was fired etc etc

Truth is not even the likes of Fulham & Birmingham have been interested.

You can continue to be grateful to him and good for you, I respect that. I will continue to view him as an average manager who done a decent job with a very good set of players until this summer when he obviously didn't oversee a proper pre-season.

As for your laughing smiley at the name "Legend10" that obviously refers to the fact of how many Legends have won the 10 shirt for Spurs. Then again 2+2 isn't always the easiest sum.

Agree 100%. Have some rep.

Can't believe that Jol was linked with the Barcodes considering their Kemsley link. That would have really been perverse.

Huddlestone was man of the match. He bossed the midfield, in my opinion.

You laugh and rightly so but the amount of people who give ratings and opinions on how we played based on radio commentary is unbelievable.

Have you considered that the radio commentary rating is ironic humour? It's too dopey to be real.

Blah, blah, blah

I just don't get it. He did more than a decent job in getting a fairly average squad to challenge for the CL places. He got those players to play well and for the team. We could see their passion and it reignited our passions for the club. He was the first step in the right direction for 20 years. Yet you, GL and other, quite reasonable posters seem hell bent on belittleing his achievement.

He was not the greatest tactician but neither was Keggy in his managerial pomp and look what he achieved. Spurs are universally loathed and yet for 2 years we were almost everyones second team.

Ramos is proving to be a better coach - I don't think any of those who liked Jol (jol-appologists - please:roll:) would argue with that. It's when, unprovoked, a myopic like yourselves decides to have a go at someone who was universally liked and respected both within and outside the club that I get upset.

Surely the point of being a fan is about loyalty and fraternity. BMJ became a part of that fraternity during his time here so, while an appropraite criticism of his substitutions in an appropriate thread would be germain, slagging him off in the match ratings thread shows a total lack of respect to both him and everyone else reading it.

In short if you want to keep banging your drum, create a thread and enjoy the 5 views and one reply this dull, hackneyed opinion of your deserves.

P.s. I do like your tag. Not sure you deserve to use it though.

Legend10's right about the pre-season bit, but Kremlin's right that this isn't the place to discuss it! BMJ will always be a legend for me in any case!

I thought Utd were a disgrace in the first half. Steed got MOTM for me, his tireless tackling back was immense and the ball really sticks to him. We should have got the 3 points, but it was a great team performance. Daws was unlucky at the end, but I also thought that he seemed to be out of position in our zonal marking system - whilst the rest of the back four were lined up on the six yard box, he was a couple of yards further out, which left Tevez the space to nip into. He also tends to 'warm up' for set pieces by having a practice jump just as the corner-taker starts his run-up, which can result, on the odd occasion that he gets his timing wrong, with him being caught flat-footed and slow to react. Woodgate was impressive and Hutton looked better second half when he'd got over his nerves a bit. Respect to Chimbonda as well for putting in a thoroughly good professional performance. The press he gets made me think he was likely to sulk about Hutton coming in, but I think he showed that we can trust him after all.
