Excellent team display today. Really impressed by the amount of the work the team put in, led from the front by Keano who didn't stop closing down the Man U back 5. Jenas was my Man of the Match as he gave a superbly controlled display. He was always there, filling in for Hutton or Chimbonda when they broke forward but had the engine to get forward to support the front men as well (not as much as he has been able to with Tainio in the team, granted, but impressive nonetheless.

Everyone an 8 bar Huddlestone and Lennon who i thought were a 9.

Big well done to Hutton and Chimbonda as well, chimbs out of position looked awesome and Hutton's debut in the premier league against man u was quality.

As much as I love Jol, Juande Ramos looks like he's really taken us up another notch.

I think its time to end the Jol love in.

Ramos in place last summer and we would have been playing CL next season!

Jol squandered what we had and my opinion on the job he done at Spurs is going down by the game.

I didn't see the game, but it is great to come on here and see you guys giving everyone decent marks. I honestly can't remember the last time everyone got 7's and 8's. And great to see the new signings contributing straight away too.

We are so, so much stronger now than we were at the beginning of the season.

Steed was man of the match its not even debatable

The first part sounds a little bit exaggerated as football doesn't boil down to running. Steed's defensive work rate is truly amaizing. Attacking wise he wasn't particularly impressive today. (The same holds for Keane in that game - great at chasing balls and closing down defenders, nothing in attacking respect.) And for that reason the second part of your statement sounds stupid.

6 is my starting point and I mark up or down from there. I was at the other end of the ground from where the goals were scored so I don't know if O'Hara was in any way culpable for their goal. Other than that though he made one bad decision in the very limited time he had when he lost it around their box trying to attack. I though Boateng made a few bad decisions when he was on the ball; there were a few times a player on the ball was crying out for someone to move for him and Boateng didn't and he played at least one hospital pass. It's early days yet for Boateng and I think he could be a good player for us in the long-term. Sometimes he's just a bit lacksadaisical though.

Berbatov - 7.5 great goal. Still lacks-a-daisy on the ball. Great run to set up Keane which Keane should have scored.

I think you mean lackadaisical .

He is doing more running around to close down the defenders. But when his flicks don't come off he just looks lazy. For once Lennon looked up and saw him in the first half and I really thought that Berb's volley was going to fly past VdS into the net. Looked a simpler chance than his one at Boro last season but he missed by a country mile.

I voted Steed MOTM.

Watching it again makes you realise how great Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed is defensively.

Why didn't Sky show every bit of the match. They missed Hutton's double tackle and they didn't even show Ronaldo's (brilliant) bit of skill when the ball was chucked at him from the crowd.

Point to prove

Corner kicks have improved. His defensive and attacking play was brilliant

Good engine, dominated the mid with Hudd.

Huddlestone-8
Ferguson had to change his midfield.

Malbranque-8
Have started to change my opinion of him. Solid

Keane-7
Defended from the front but should have scored. Hope he doesn't get comfortable now Defoe's gone.

Keane was brilliant, but his job is to score and he didn't score the great chance he had so I have trouble giving him more than a 6 even though his defending from the front and general creativity were on display today. He was amazing and he'd been MOTM if he put home that chance, but he didn't and that makes the difference between 3 points and 1. Also Dawson got jinxed by the Setanta commentators, they gave him MOTM before the game ended. Poor lad, played well today. Brilliant game though. I'm so proud of every player who wore the shirt today. Hopefully we can put a shallacking on Derby.

Aaaaaaaarrrrggghhhh. I said a couple of weeks ago that football can be heaven and hell. Today for me was hell. One kick away from getting 3 points from ManU and that kick is like a dagger that goes straight up your jacksy and pierces your heart. As bad as it gets. Nearly. To loose 3 points, against ManU with the last kick from yet another set piece sums up our entire season.

I was a bit disapointed by the team line up when I heard it. Particularly worried by the lack of King, the inclusion of Dawson, Chimbonda at LB and Huddlestone back in midfield. But after about 15 minutes we had settled down and started to play most of the football. First half was a realy good half of football from us and deservedly saw us lead at half time. Second half after some early purpose from ManU we again came back into it and calmed the game daown with some possession. last 10-15 was expected and we had pretty much coped with most things without them looking like scoring when fucking blam. A last minute set piece. And not even a big fella.. Disapointed with Cerny and dawson. As ever the worst referee in the prem was his usual consistantly wank self. I had my last ban from here for calling him the name that gets you banned. So like the managers in post match interviews I need to be prudent with my words. he is an embarrasment to his proffession. he might as well just give Giggs his fucking whistle and let him referee.****. Even the shit he gave us was wrong half the time. Ratings:

Everyone 7.5-8 more or less. keane works so much harder when he's rattled (thank you Vidic) but once again we wasted killer chances. Dawson hoofs the ball aimlessly it drives you nuts but defensively he was brave & good today. Good home debuts from Woodgate & Hutton.

Our season was contained within this game. Good football, hard work but a few slapshod final seconds of individual fuctitude was our undoing.

Where is King ?

I am starting to wonder about the number of clear chances that we are missing (don't think theres stats for 'clear' chances)

I'm really hoping that Benty steps up to the plate and we get more clinical .
