Forster - 7 - Not a busy night, but deserves credit for the double-save he made just before the goal.
Romero - 5 - Another rash booking.
Dier - 5 - Not entirely convincing defensively and fluffed one of our few chances. The yellow was harsh and inconsistent with how the ref managed the rest of the game.
Lenglet - 5 - Didn't improve his prospects of a permanent transfer. I'm still waiting to see the passing ability that I heard so much about last summer.
Emerson - 7 - Another solid performance. The lack of movement around him was the only real issue when he was in the final third today.
Skipp - 7 - The sort of performance we saw from before his injury last season.
Sarr - 7.5 - My MotM and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him. I think the 8+ ratings are the result of people getting a bit carried away.
Perisic - 5 - Not enough quality with the ball tonight.
Kulusevski - 5 - Struggled to cause any real problems for Milan.
Kane - 6 - Very limited supply, but decent hold-up play.
Son - 5 - As has often been the case this season, he almost did something good on the ball a few times, but nothing quite came off and he ultimately had minimal impact on the game.

Richarlison - 5 - As per Kane, but less time on the pitch. I'm not sure how he wasn't awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box during injury time.
Davies - 5 - Exploited space well, but was wasteful with the ball.
Danjuma - ? - I don't recall him doing anything.

I thought that was ok, actually, and that we deserved more on the balance of play. We should be able to beat this lot at ours.

Skipp and Sarr were very good - so pleased for skipp who has had a rough year - he is back to his best.

New signings are like square pegs in round holes again. Struggling to get going or fit the system

subs are not early enough.. couldn’t get a result against one of the worst Milan teams to appear in the UCL

I think people being too harsh on Conte here. All that matters is getting through. It would have been a mistake to go hell for leather for an equaliser and to concede a second. We are well capable of overturning a one goal deficit in front of our own fans.

Hell for leather doesn’t mean Son and Kulu couldn’t have been swapped out much earlier and perhaps our offensive might have had some teeth.

Sarr, my MOM, and Skipp were impressive in midfield. Emerson battled well up and down the right. Kane took a battering but put a good shift in with little real support around him.
Disappointed that Conte does not give Richarlison more time (on the left) especially with Son playing so badly.

I'm just glad that Milan obviously didn't watch the hundreds of hours of footage of how to play against our 343. For once we weren't overrun in midfield which allowed Sarr and Skipp to get a decent grip on the game. Can't believe Sonny is still getting picked tbh. Love the bloke but he's still struggling, and the Conte goes and puts Richarlison on the right. It's beyond frustrating now as a spectator so God only knows what it's like for some of the players. At least he was forced into giving Skipp and Sarr a runout but no way we'd have seen a single minute of them without injury and suspension of others.

Agree with most of the posts in here. Skipp and Sarr did really well and didn’t look out of place on the CL stage. Harry tried and did well despite being really well shackled (their centre halves Thiaw and Kjaer gave ours a lesson in front door aggressive defending and having the desire to engage).

I watched Perisic closely and he was very frustrating. Poor delivery and sloppy I’m possession (also easily beaten). Theo Hernandez gave us a demonstration of what a swashbuckling fullback really looks like - I thought he was the best player on the pitch.

Amazing how sitting in the home
End gives a different perspective as I watched the game more closely as I couldn’t immerse myself in the atmosphere.

still annoys me that away fans get stuck up in the gods in most grounds but right next to the pitch at ours

Edit - just to add - the Milan fans clearly don’t trust their keeper at all - we need to test him in the second leg as he looks shaky with his feet. Also their right back looked very average.

Credit to Sarr, my motm, Skipp and Emerson. They showed some real fight and skill. Shame the senior players showed nothing

Forster reassured me a little. We know his limitations but was really unlucky with the goal after making two good saves. Otherwise felt he was very comfortable claiming balls in the air.
