Micky was clear MoTM.

Notable mentions for Royal and Udogie.

While no one really stood out in midfield or attack Son ran his nuts off and finished off his one on one with his customary aplomb and Werner really grew into the game and was probably the most effective he has been.

VDV and Johnson for me. VDV was just calm and controlling, most of the time, and unlike Romero kept the ball moving quickly. Royal was superb too

Johnson came on and made us a threat. No more probing, more direct running at players. 2 assists. Can't argue with him being MoTM.

Motm was Mickey the bloke is literally the perfect modern day defender and he was flawless today. Shout out to Emerson Royal who I thought was very good today

Bentancur looks miles off it at the moment, didn’t think Bissouma was all that much better although he grew into the game

don't know how many times they looked primed to get in behind our high line, and VDV *almost casually* ran them down

VDV rocket ship 🚀 MOTM
Werner best game for us
Johnson super sub!

Fairly dominant whilst not particularly clinical performance.

7/10 overall, good comeback and win.

Vicario what were you doing, that wall alignment was a shocker.

VDV tremendous and my MOTM, followed by Werner who really lifted the tempo in the second half and Johnson whose tenacity contributed to two goals.

First half was insipid with the midfield pedestrian and lacking any ambition. Kulu was largely ineffective and Bentancur still looking a shadow of the player he was before the injury.

Son showed how dangerous he can be even when largely not in the game, top finish.

Udodie great to have him back but can someone buy him some boots with studs in them. Emerson did his job as a fill in. Romero great to get a goal and solid defensively but bit loose in possession a few times.

Ange, not sure what the first half was all about but bringing Johnson on changed the game.

Strange performance. I didn't think it was overly convincing yet could have been 7-1 if our players had their shooting boots on...

Need to sort out the first half performances. It's all too scripted and predictable.

VDV motm for me. Head and shoulders above anyone else. He's the one player really stands out as potential world class. And the one I'd be most concerned about money bags teams sniffing around. He was brilliant today.

Just to be clear: we are a moneybags team now. We just need to keep improving and win. VDV has only just come into us at a young age and if we keep progressing I don’t see him leaving. If we don’t then we have bigger concerns, so I’m not losing sleep over someone poaching VDV.

Was at the game. Easily VDV, not even close.

Johnson obviously did well, as did and Werner Maddison.

Absolutely! Eze's shot was way wide of the end of the wall and went straight in the corner. Can only mean it went in the side of the goal Vicario was more responsible for. Bit of a strange one.

Agree. Anyway, other than Kane and Eriksen running down their contracts, Walker is the only player I can remember us selling to a “money bags” team during the last ten years. Arguably he was also the only key player of the last ten years we sold at their peak.

We always seem to be worried about losing players, losing coaches etc when in fact some of our biggest problems during the last few years resulted from not selling players sooner.

It was just meant to highlight his ability. They will sniff around. For sure. They'd be stupid not to.

As he's that good imo. It's not just his pace, but the timing of his tackles and ability to take the ball. He's also strong on the ball. His pace just makes him another level of good for obvious reasons.

For me, along with top form Maddison, our best current signing by a margin.

Exactly this. I actually gave it to Werner, as VDV seems to win most weeks.

For me, this game was the perfect illustration of the need for proper wingers in this system. Once Werner starting taking people on the outside and crossing, we looked dangerous. Same for Johnson. With the number of people in the middle of the pitch - striker, 3 CMs and 2 FBs, we desperately need the width... and it has to come from the wingers (who don't cut back inside at every opportunity).

Weird thing. Vic seems to anticipate the free kick going the other side and has to shift his weight back to the correct foot to dive to his left, so is too late. Odd.
