Real Madrid agreement?

Can somebody please explain what exactly is the special agreement we have with Real Madrid? All I see is how Arsenal are trying to buy a bunch of their players. Can't see how them tapping up Modric and Bale, then selling top players to our biggest rivals works in any kind of agreement unless we signed to say we would bend over for them and provide the lubricant.

This so called agreement seems pretty unusual and I am curious as to what it actually is

We share training facilities, coaching etc.

It has literally nothing to do with transfers which is why it's so funny hearing people have a meltdown everytime they deal with a rival.

Yep. Its is more for the commercial side of things. Also we use their scouting connections and compare marketing schemes and options.

We get first refusal on their players. The problem is that none of their players wants to join us.

Yep, it's supposed to be more to do with things like sharing approaches to global publicity.

As far as the player issues are concerned, it makes me laugh when people make out this is entirely one-sided. We got an incredible deal for VDV (granted, it was before the partnership was officially in place), plus they buy our players for world record fees, rather than us having to watch them leave for Chelsea or United.

If we can't offer the money or success to keep our stars, the next best thing is to be able to sell them to clubs in other countries, for massive amounts of money. I'd rather we were Madrid's feeder club, than United's.

Call me a cynic but I'm convinced it was nothing more than a publicity stunt from Levy to soften the Modric transfer. We've seen no shred of evidence of any communication regarding coaching, global marketing and so on and I see very little shift in the approach of either club to these areas since the agreement was announced.

Why would we see evidence of it? Any major company would keep this private and behind closed doors

We nurture players who are not good enough for them at the time.they buy them from us a few years later. They give us cash while ripping the heart from our squad.

And in return we smile and Dr evil rubs his grubby little paws. Simples

Indeed, and this has been explained many times.

Yes we get first refusal on their players.

I believe they have even written it into their players' contracts.

It's called the Tottenham refusal clause, however I think that something's been lost in the translation...

Basically a nonsense agreement to make it look like we were going to get something productive out of being consistently bitch slapped by Real, I doubt we'll even see a friendly match in the life time of this "agreement"

We've sold all of two players to them.

You lot act as if they tear our squad apart.
Barcelona have taken:
Petit
Overmars
Henry
Fabregas
Song?
Hleb
Silvinho
From arsenal.

Yes, that's why they announced it when we sold them our best player.

It was a bullshit bit of spin.

I don't know what upsets me the most, selling our best players or my club trying to spin me a line like I'm a fucking muppet,
