I agree that we should by no means be happy with the performance, but I try to look at it in a positive way. In previous years we've played well but been unlucky and in the end missed out on our goals, namely the top 4. This time round however, it seems different. We're not playing well, which, although isn't exactly reassuring, we're still coming up with the points. Maybe we finally have that bit of luck which in previous years has escaped us. Also, it could show that bit of mental strength to keep going until the final minute, despite the fact that most the minutes before that we're poor.

Of course, but many seem to think it therefore makes others in the wrong to criticise the team for playing poorly, even if we get the win. I am 110% happy that we won and don't care how, but if the manager and team took that attitude we'd be screwed.

Completely agree, though i'd be lieing if I said I wasn't worried by the fact we probably haven't really played well since the win over Inter Milan.

The last 15 minutes against Man City were exceptional too.

That is what frustrates me, we clearly have it in us to absolutely destroy almost any team in front of us but there just seems to be something that doesn't always click

Yeah for sure, but actually, over the course of the whole season, there have been few games where we've played well the whole match and completely dominated the other team. The wins against Inter, Villa, Fulham away and both against Reading. That's not a lot considering we're competing for the top 4.

I don't think it's a lack of urgency, it's a lack of technically gifted players in the centre of the pitch. As you say, too many average players.
Pretty much what I was going to say. Most of the ball-playing players in midfield seem to run out of ideas very quickly. There is no point playing at a high tempo if they don't know what to do next. Most logical step is to stand back on the ball and wait to see if the movement of players stimulates anything or just pass it back/sideways and make it someone else's problem.
