Any clear and obvious error should be correctable and as in rugby, the game could continue while stuff is being analyzed. Much as I do feel for Liverpool and the injustice of the decision you can’t replay the match- once that sort of thing happens it opens up a whole can of worms regarding other matches in which there were contentious decisions.

Yes, we would have been forced to attack with even more impetus for the majority of the match, which would have made it far more difficult for Liverpool to hang on against 11 men.

Yep, we would have stepped it up won 8-1 and they would have had 6 players sent off and their season would be in ruins. At least the way it actually played out means they can pretend to be hard done by.
