RIP Paolo Rossi

Passed away today at the age 64.

Star of the Italy side in the 1982 World Cup. First World Cup I can really remember, everyone in the school playground was either Rossi or Socrates. Fond memories.

On separate note, that Brazil side was one of my favourites of all time, the reason they didn't win it was largely down to Paolo Rossi (from what I recall).

Great hat trick. Back then the World Cup was one of the few times we watched the stars from other countries. RIP paulo.

It's been a few days and my dad is cut up by this. The '82 World Cup was the first time he ever got to see his country win the World Cup and Rossi was a bit of a hero for him as a result. Growing up he made me watch that Brazil match so many time. Rossi played like a man possessed against the greatest side of all time in that Brazil team.
