whatever it takes to bring Keane back minus losing Modric or Woodgate would be acceptable...he is far far better than anything else we have and if people dont realise that then more fool them

That's bollocks, man.

Everton in the cup at the weekend is a much bigger game than Wigan midweek in the league.

I have to disgree on this one. I believe we had Keane in his prime and during that time he delivered the goods, no doubt, however I noticed that last year he had lost a yard of pace, which prevented him from being as effective as previous years.

We sold him, maybe not at the right time, but for the right money considering he ain't quite the player he was.

if lennon and o'hara swap with keane, i'll start supporting ar5ena1!!! :eek:mg::bang:

anyhoo,

pros:

proven quality,
1. scores 20+ a season,
2.good leadership qualities,
3.NOT UEFA CUP TIED,
4.no settling in period required,
5.knows our style of play
6.wouldn't cost much? (that is, if liverpool owe us what they do)

cons:

1.would unsettle Defoe (possibly)
2.who's he gonna replace in the starting line up?????
3.would we need to change our formation to accomidate(sp?)
4.incoming payments of 15mil(ish) wiped out
5.would want to play 90% of games/minutes (see 2)

frankly, i wouldn't be too upset one way or the other

He can sod off, all his got to leave to join my boyhood team rubbish.

If thats what he wanted fair enough, we got good money for him. However now he has realised the grass isn't always greener doesn't mean we should be there for him as a fall back option.

As much as I thought Robbie was very good for us, he also frustrated the hell out of me (what Spur's player doesn't at times!) he missed so many one on ones it was untrue. I personnally believe the reason Robbie looked really good the last 2 seasons with us was Berbatov, he made Robbie look a much better player than he was, I'm sure Robbie had an effect on Berbatov aswell (but not as great). Partnerships can always make players look better than they really are. Shearer and Sutton being a great example, Shearer was great everywhere, Sutton was just great with Shearer.

In short I don't want him back, he burned his bridges. If we could have him for £5 mill I would consider it but even then, I still think we should leave him be, out of principle.

I can't believe for one second that Harry would let Lennon go just to get Keane back.

However, I don't buy into this "keane thought he was too good for us". That wasn't the case, I mean come on, Liverpool are a regular top 4 team, in the champions league and he supported them as a boy, it was his dream move and he'll be on more money so we can't blame him for leaving.

I do think we've missed his leadership, work rate and obviously goals but I dont want him back at the sake of Lennon or JJ or if it has any effect on Defoe's chances of starting. They also owe us over 10 million of the fee still so surely we write that off and just give them £8 million or so over 17 years and we'll do a deal.

The point here tho is that Rafa Benitez is the kind of man who will sooner see Keano rot on his bench or in the ressies before he admits that he fucked up in signing a player they didn't need for a ridiculous amount.

Please don't resign him. Would be a huge mistake and would imbalance us even further. Hate the player

Oh man this is funny, Rafa Benitez just makes himself look like more and more of a total douche every time he opens his mouth.

Check out what the wiley old fox has said recently........

"We want all our players. We don't want to sell. Robbie could be one of the ones we had an approach about, I won't say."

"Is Keane one? I'm not saying, you can guess yourselves.

"For me when you sign a player the main thing is not the price, the main thing is that they just keep working.

"Keane is now back in the squad, so we can stop talking about him and his future."

I love it...the interview basically went....yeah we've had some offers, i'm not tellin you who they are but Robbie Keane might be one of them......so Keane is one of them then? I dunno, who said that...not me...guess for yourselves....haha, classic.

This is just a load of rubbish. Benitez just doesn't want to tell the press anything. He left Keane out of the FA cup squad which doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't rate him or wants to sell him.

Redknapp said he rates Keane as a player which does not mean he has put in an offer and wants to buy the him.

The media are just clutching at invisible straws!

Evidence of this season suggests this is behind him. Especially as he would be coming back to Spurs as a 29 year old without a certain Bulgarian with whom he had his best spell.

I know he scored goals pre-Berbatov, but he was a different player completely with him and he does not now look capable of re-adjusting his game to suit.

For me, if Keane was 25/26 then I might entertain it, but he's not and he can't even score goals in that Liverpool team.

I, for one, do not want RK anywhere near WHL. He thought he was too good for us, he can rot as far as I care.
...and to add...

I guess most of us would kill to play for our boyhood club......or?

Those words you use sound more like an egotistic and bitter child.

Best business our club ever did was selling him. I can handle Chimbonda to a certain point, but this would be a different matter.
One thing though I doubt he would want to coMe back. We could have all predicted what's happening to him at Liverpool and I for one am delighted.

i would rather of have keane back than defoe
but now defoe is here we should not sign keane
they dont play well together plus defoe has improved greatly since he left us whilst keane seems to of gone backwards
would rather get another big target man instead

Definately! Because we as a football club have really been on the up since we sold Keane!

So you're happy that Chimbo is back (a guy how sulked when subbed in the CC Final) but don't want Keano back (He was player of the year 3 out of 6 seasons with us)
