Villa fans seem happy.

Not only have we apparently reacted to the Diaz incident by poaching one of their key targets, but we're also after the guy (Luiz) that they were looking to replace

Mate, am I reading this thread wrong, or do you really have an issue with this guy?
You really don't seem to like him, almost to an unhealthy degree.
I have nothing against him. You can't blame a player for his lack of quality. The player did not make the decision to sign for a club nor does he decibed how much game time he gets or what kind of tasks are asked of him.

If you have a player with limited ability and put him in situations that he can't manage and he fucks up, the blame is not on the player. If a player lacks work rate, attitude and mentality then the player is at fault.

I have a problem with how our club scouts and deals with transfers. Its obvious that we're panic mode to get players in and FP only way out is to buy his old players from juve. In my opinion these players are average (DK might come good in a few years, jury is still out as he's 21 and I know he's got a good mentality). Its not the players fault that they're not elite in terms of abillity nor that they're signing for us.

@Don_simon - "Do me a sneaky favour and Google "Spurs Coutinho". Then come back and say we've been solidly demonstrated upon that we're a bottom half team and Spurs are our masters."

Googles "Spurs Coutinho"...

"Antonio Conte personally refused the chance to sign Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho for Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports."

it is pretty funny that it seems like everyone shits on their own club when they are in the vacume of a football forum. Never been to another teams before but im sure liverpools is just a bunch of people huffing their own farts pver and over

It really does sound like he slept with your mum or something though!

Now I don't know because I don't recall ever really seeing the lad but from some of the more reasonable views in here, it sounds like he may well be a decent player, if not a world beater.

Have you watched a lot of him, or are you just spitting bile in some kind of anti Enic way? Because that's what your last post comes across as.
"we're shit, our owners are shit, our business is shit and by default, any players we may now be after are shit".

He’s kind of in between them
but closer to a Rodri than a Kovacic as Kovacic really carries/dribbles the ball forwards a lot whereas Bentancur is much more of a passer/deep lying playmaker type who keeps things ticking over.

As I’ve said before, I watch a lot of Serie A as have Italian family and obviously Juve have featured a ton the last 10 years as they’ve been so dominant.

If you want to get a feel for what I’ve been saying watch the match vs Torino highlights video below.

As I said in my earlier post he’s primarily a combative defensive midfielder (more deep lying playmaker than a destroyer like PEH) who would be an upgrade on PEH, Skipp and Winks.

He’s exactly the functional type of CM that Conte likes. The thing is unless we also strengthen RWB & RW it wouldn’t matter if we put prime Xavi Alonso in our team as we need better attacking movement up top and better threat from our wing backs to open space for combative ball playing CM’s to look good.

But regardless of that he’d simply be an upgrade on what we have for a decent price and he’s an experienced winner.

Juve are going for Zakaria so Bentancur surplus to requirements really / they need to balance the books after also purchasing Vhalovic.

a few things i noticed from that (admittedly small) preview of his abilities is that he plays with his head on the swivel which we badly need, he can and does use the ball first time or quickly spots passes between the lines. he can use both feet to pass short and long fast or slow. Always seems to be on the move (and not just running away from the ball like our lot) and he seems comfortable carrying the ball forwards or backwards.
Yes from me.

???

Football fans bias never fails to astound me.

Credit to Villa, they have made some massive progress and some very shrewd signings but fuck me.

"Absolutely astonished" a player would pick a club higher in the table, managed by Conte, based in London with a beautiful new stadium and training ground.

The lad should probably be sectioned for not picking Stevie G's claret and blue brigade over us.

Kovacic was ‘deadwood’ at Real, whereas we were all thrilled when we signed Lo Celso & Ndombele. Until I see players play in the PL with my own eyes I will reserve judgement.
