Roman Pavlyuchenko turns up at Lokomotiv Moscow match as Russians prepare new bid for the Tottenham Hotspur striker

Roman Pavlyuchenko watched Lokomotiv Moscow from the stands at the weekend as the Russian side prepare an improved bid to sign him from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Lokomotiv fear a £10million bid they were plotting in the winter will no longer be enough and they are ready to offload three players to raise funds.

A renewed bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Marat Izmailov - a Manchester City and Everton target - is also on the cards after a £5m move in March broke down.
Lokomotiv Moscow president Nikolai Naumov said: 'In the coming days we will once again enter into negotiations about Pavlyuchenko and Izmailov.

'We need attacking players, especially a forward. Morever, (Peter) Odemwingie is likely to leave. There is interest in Peter from Lyon, Monaco, a couple of English clubs, a couple of Spanish clubs... all over the place!
'There are formal proposals, but no one has met the asking price (for Odemwingie). Maybe we wait for the World Cup, where the price for Odemwingie should increase.

'It is also possible, we will look for new teams for Haminu Draman and Charles.'
Pavlyuchenko saw his prospective employers beat Amkar Perm 2-0 on Saturday in the final game before a two-month summer break.
The former Spartak Moscow player's place at Spurs is still in doubt despite the club qualifying for Champions League football.

There were even reports in his homeland last week that Pavlyuchenko had agreed a £1.4m purchase of two luxury apartments in the Russian capital ahead of a move to Lokomotiv.
Lokomotiv have warned, however, that they will move for Dynamo Kiev's £17m-rated Ukraine striker Artem Milevskiy if Pavlyuchenko's price tag rises too much.

With three years left on Pavlyuchenko's contract at White Hart Lane, his agent Oleg Artemov is keeping all options open.
'Having the coach's trust, the player's performance and Tottenham's qualification for the Champions League are three major factors why Pavlyuchenko has remained in England,' said Artemov.
'Now we can say with confidence that he has adapted to the championship.

'Roman is ready to fulfil his contract. But so say there will be no more negotiations would be categorical and incorrect.
'Lokomotiv, judging by the words of (coach Yuri) Semin and (president Nikolay) Naumov are going to sign a strong forward this summer - and will certainly not be averse to resuming negotiations on the transfer of Pavlyuchenko.'
The 6ft 2in hitman has also been suggested in a possible part-exchange for Liverpool's Yossi Benayoun.

2 + 2 = 5

I do like pav and I think is has a great instinctive goal scoring touch but I would only be willing to see him leave if...We had already signed a real proven top quality striker. I also would prefer to see the back of keane first. Nothing personal I just think he represents what we were and not where we're heading
