This just popped up on news now, I know it's from a terrible paper but I can't believe the nerve of the author Brian Woolnough in admitting that he acted as a middle man in an illegal appoach for a player. I wonder how much money he made out of that one?
Spurs have used section K of the Premier League rule book before when they were upset with Manchester United’s chase for Dimitar Berbatov.
The outcome was that Berbatov went to Old Trafford.
The main reason for section K is that it allows the unhappy club to extract the best-possible deal for their player.
If Chelsea really want Modric they will get him, despite what Spurs chairman Daniel Levy says.
It’s the way it’s always been. I once acted as a go-between for a top manager who wanted to sign a player under contract at another club. I asked him if he fancied a move and brought the two parties together. The player signed.
Would I do it again? Yes, probably. For no other reason than to help a friend and the fact nothing is really done.
Football doesn’t appear to care.
Spurs have two choices. Keep an unhappy player or sell him once the price is right?
We all know what eventually happens.
