Those defensive numbers (tackles, interceptions) in the 12/13 season before his knee went were the best in Europe. Such a waste.

Was he the first Brazilian player who was s regular in the first team? I know that we had Defendi but he never broke through.

Excitedly bellowed a certain Spurs-related reference at him whilst heading up the gangway to the England-Brasil game. I think he was being interviewed and he was in a leg cast, but gave me a beaming smile and a wave. Top top geezer.

Loved Sandro. Losing both him and Wanyama to serious knee injuries after their breakthrough seasons in our first XI was tough :(

Was it Sandro and Palacios paired together away at AC Milan or am I imagining that? Those two in the same team in their prime would have been brutal!

I loved everything about Sandro, his energy and infectious enthusiasm, on and off the pitch, capoeira, sense of humour.
On the pitch he was a real beast but really grew as a player too, when he first came he was a bit unaware of the little time he would have in CM and could panic a bit but after a run of games he was a treat to watch. Just a shame his body couldn't cope with the efforts he put in for us.

Prime Sandro would make this current team so much better.

I loved that vid that went up a few years ago (can't find it anymore - thanks internet!) when he went and played darts with Bobby George!

Like others, really enjoyed him playing for us and on top of that he was a boss on FM14. Every time I played as Spurs, he'd be the rock in the middle for years, his value just went up and up and whenever I played as another team, he'd inevitably end up at whichever side is strolling the Champions League each year.

Nice bloke as well it seems.

He was the best player in the league 2012/2013 (first half). We might remember the season for Gareth Bale's second half of the season, but Sandro was actually the best player that year.

Correct. And this is probably where the clean sheet came from. That was the most pragmatic lineup ever chosen by Harry, but it was a product of need. We had so many injuries it was ridiculous.
Modric was injured and only came on for the last 30 minutes, but his hockey assist to Lennon started the counterattack for the Crouch goal.
I was there with some friends sitting among Milan fans. Oh how we danced.

He was outstanding, the best DM we have ever seen in that period, such a shame the knee injury finished him

Still one of my all time faves and wont change my pic and have another one of him celebrating on Pokerstars. :D

Top lad and seeing him an Dembele dominating the midfield areas were an absolute joy to watch. Such a shame he never recovered from that injury.
