Winning Bid: An incredible £500!!
Hi all,
I work for the British Heart Foundation and a few days ago I had a call from a Spurs fan who was so moved by the incident during the Denmark game that he wanted us to auction off his signed Eriksen shirt in our shop in Chelmsford.
Today he called again after having it beautifully framed (by a kind hearted Arsenal fan with a £50 discount!) and I've now got it at the shop. His idea was to set a date, probably a few weeks, and to sell it to the highest bidder.
A few points...
The shirt will be sold in the shop just around the corner from the Chelmsford Spurs store so the winning bidder will need to be able to pick it up and pay in person. I wish I could offer it to people further away but the bidding is open to the public as it will be on display in store and we can't take payment online or over the phone.
The donor originally got it for £90 at a Great Ormond Street event unframed and the framing was £75 so I'm thinking of starting the bidding at £150.
If anyone is interested or knows of anyone else who might be then you can post in here and PM me your name and number and I'll keep track of bids. I'll also update the thread with the highest current bid.
Money raised will go through the shop where 100% of profits go to various things from research into Heart related diseases to installing defibrillators in public areas and much more.
The donor didn't want any recognition but he said to me that Christian Eriksen's life was saved by the medical teams there that day and that his hope is that his shirt can be used to save somebody else's.
If I've missed anything or you have any questions then post in here or PM me. I'll check in daily.
I'll set the deadline for bids over the weekend once I've worked out the details and add it to this post but I'm thinking Tuesday 6th July at 4.30pm.
Thanks for taking the time to read this far!
That said, here is the shirt in question...
