I love Sonny and he seems like such a great and nice guy and I guess what I'm about to say is a sign of that but I reckon if Vladimir Putin was managing South Korea, Sonny would defend him.

I hadn’t seen that this was happening. How often - with the exception of when player safety is at risk owing to war or threat of terrorism - do international sports teams play their matches in a foreign country?

Brazil have played matches in England quite a few times over the years. At the Emirates mostly from memory. Remember Kaka scoring a solo goal vs Argentina when he started running from the halfway line.

Yep because sometimes headlines can be misleading.

It’s typical Sonny. I’m paraphrasing but his interviews are always some variation of “I need to to more as a player, we need to do better as a team” or “I’m so grateful to help the team and I owe this to my teammates.”

He’s seems a genuinely lovely guy and he’s often having to speak in a very foreign language so I get it. I just wouldn’t put much stock in his public utterances- they’re seldom insightful.
