So I've had a thought about a song for Poch and the rest of our Argentines, past and present. I remember when my brother went to the WC he kept going on about this song the Argentine fans were singing. We always go on about a lack of new songs, or creativity and while I suggest a couple of chsanges I don't think you'll hear anyone else singing it.
So this is the chant
I suggest changing the lyrics, as we have nothing against Brazil and don't want to offend any future Brazil players and just want to show support to Argentina and the links with our club. I also imagine Poch and Lamela would recognise the melody and really appreciate it. These are the lyrics from the comments section in the link
"Brasil, decime qué se siente
Tener en casa a tu papá
Te juro que aunque pasen los años
Nunca nos vamos a olvidar
Que el Diego los gambeteó
Que Cani los vacunó Estás llorando desde Italia hasta hoy
A Messi lo vas a ver La copa nos va a traer
Maradona es más grande que Pelé"
English Translation
“Brazil, tell me how it feels,
to have daddy in your home.
I swear that even as the years go by,
we’ll never forget. How Diego dribbled,
and Cani[ggia] stuck you*.
You’ve been crying since Italy until today,
you’ll see Messi, bring the cup back to us.
Maradona is greater than Pelé.” (* — “stuck you,” as in, with a needle, or as in, a sexual slur, referring to Caniggia’s goal against Brazil in Italia ‘90.)
So we could do something like
bla bla blaaa bla bla bla Pochettino
somethiiing something Lamela
alsoooo also Ricky Villa
do daa do daa Ardiles
could even keep in the Maradona line for the game he played for us. Any other Argentine links?
You get the idea. Any Spanish speakers want to create lyrics and write out phonetically so the cultured fans could give it a go.
Or we could just do English lyrics to do the chant and do keep it cultured do their offensive hand gestures. I think it would sound really good in the concourse and the stadium.
Any thoughts?
