Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho both want to give South Korean forward Heung-min Son a new deal as he enters the last two years of his current contract. The club lost Christian Eriksen on a reduced fee after he ran down his deal last winter and they want to avoid a repeat.

Every transfer window I am surprised there is not any speculation about some club sniffing around wanting to make a massive offer to take him away, one of the most underrated players in the Premiership IMO.

I can't see any reason he wouldn't sign a new deal, he seems incredibly happy at Spurs. Give that man a pay rise.

I was thinking the same. Son has upped the level, a renewed contract is fair and deserved plus his a massive commercial pull in Asia and around the world.

Levy wouldn’t let the lad out of his grasp, Son probably pays for himself with the Asian following.

And we’re not even mentioning that he’s currently the joint top scorer in the Premier League.

Everyone constantly asks this question, I think it's to do with the profile of Asian footballers, they're just not respected, popular or highly sought after unlike Europeans, South American's etc...

I think there will be some pressure from Korea/his family to push for a move to one of the mega clubs, but the thing is, if he winds down his contract he'll be 31 by the time he leaves the club so would he still be as attractive to your Madrids, Bayerns by then?

And in the meantime Levy will want upwards of 80-90 million for him, if not more. Hard to see anyone paying crazy money for someone his age.

He's settled and massively loved here so I suspect he'll sign on and commit to Spurs as it makes the most sense.

Fucking hope so anyway.

Dam right...world class, would get in any team in the world. Perhaps our best players and that's saying something with Mr Kane in the same squad.

Wouldn't say by a country mile, but so far this season Kane has been comfortably our best player imo (might even be the best performing player in world football at the moment). Son has been very good and effective as well though.

So they should because he's every bit as important to us as Kane & their partnership seems to be getting better.

7 in 5 is better than very good, it's down right fantatic.
