absolutely agree, but for a player to score 43 goals over 600 games does it qualify to say his end product was not his best asset?
Depends how you define end product, and if that's important for a right sided midfielder? On the break he was lethal, and he created and made possible many vital goals. Why does every player have to be reduced to goal stats? By that logic, Modric and Dembele were a pile of shite.

Azza was a fantastic defensive winger, too. Made Charlie look world class. He could bring a break to a standstill, just by getting back goalside and making a nuisance of himself, got loads of interceptions.

m8 calm down, all I was saying is for 50m as an attacking midfielder nowadays you should be somewhat of a goal threat or have a season with 8+ assists at least, just my opinion before you go into a mental logic breakdown over there. It was somewhat of a joke, bad night at the club yesterday?

I don't know where to start with this.

1) I'm calm.
2) Your Lennon analogy was nonsensical.
3) The rest is unnecessary.

But you dont see it as a huge overprice when Maddison went for 30m?
Compared to other wingers Luiz Dias who had 25+ goals/assists for Porto went for 40m, Kulu had 20+ for Juve and we paid 26 and some of Bentancurs fee was transferred into that fee as well.

He played at my local club Lincoln City for a season on loan so I had an opportunity to watch him every week and he is a cracking player, one of those that just looked special. He could be a very special player and I would be delighted if he came to us.

I'm just pleased there's another Lincolnite here! I do miss those freezing cold nights 25 - 30 years ago on the terrace at Sincil Bank getting thrashed by Barnet and everyone randomly cheering for Barnet, just so we had something to get excited about! On Johnson, that's be a straight 'yes please' from me.

Ah yes, remember 800 odd for a game playing Halifax in the conference. I think when you watch
players live at a lower level you get to see more than you did on the TV. He has everything and the only area that really needs work is his finishing which will improve with good coaching and experience. More than capable of getting 10+ goals a season from out wide and can play through the middle too!

Not for me Clive. Gives me Dan James vibes. Can’t put my finger on it but he needs to do it for a bit longer at Forest.

No comparison, already higher ceiling, more end product and has that ‘x’ factor: be perfect in Anges system.

Who’s decided he’s got a higher ceiling? End product yes in comparison to DJ looking at the stats but I don’t see an X factor sorry. He’s really quick and he seems like a nice bloke but we should be after better - especially at 50 smackers.

Ok, In my opinion. Better? Who decides who is better? What’s being a nice bloke have to do with it? We’ve been behind the curve for many years in looking at top up and coming players like him. Many often moan that we don’t catch them early enough and then they become out our range. Paying a little more for players like him and Scott now secures those positions for years to come.

Sorry mate I didn’t mean it in an aggy way- it’s just all so subjective innit.

I’d argue we’ve caught him too late really - 22yo and £50m.

Sounds like you’ve seen a lot more of him than I have. I think he’s good but just not sure at that price and whether he improves us. If we sign him - I hope he proves me wrong :)
