Never been a fan. However been hugely impressed with Wijnaldum this season. Such a dangerous and classy player. Amazed the big boys haven't been linked. Technically as good as anyone.

He was linked a few years back but then his development seem to have halted...until this season, when he's been on fire. But, Spurs got "similar" players already.

I'll wait until the mid-way point of next season and see how he's playing. Newcastle have had a number of (attacking) players who were on fire in their initial season with the club, only to falter badly & almost disappear come season 2.

Ben Arfa's doing well back in Ligue 1 it seem. No, I don't want Spurs to sign him but he sure got excellent ball skills. I still believe that if he'd had the "right" attitude from the beginning he'd be a world class player now.

What about another Dembele? Have 3 Dembele's in the team may help confuse the opposing defenders :D

Full name: Ousmane Dembélé
Date of birth: 15 May 1997 (age 18)
Place of birth: Vernon, France
Height: 1.77 m (5 ft 91⁄2 in)
Playing position: Forward

Forget Mousa Dembele and Moussa Dembele... Tottenham need Ousmane Dembele.

Tottenham Hotspur came close to adding a second Dembele to their squad in the past transfer window, attempting to buy Moussa Dembele from Fulham.

They signed Mousa Dembele from the same side back in August 2012, and even brought his near namesake in for a medical last weekend before a deal broke down, The Guardian reported.

Spurs may well return for the Fulham striker in the summer when his contract expires, but there is another Dembele who could be the best of the lot.

French winger Ousmane Dembele is carving an impressive reputation for himself in Ligue 1 with Rennes.

Dembele is just 18-years-old, and has established himself as a first team player this season, scoring four goals in 11 games, providing two assists.

His displays have won rave reviews, with former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre comparing him to Cristiano Ronaldo.

He told France Football: "He can win the Ballon d'Or. I saw Cristiano Ronaldo get the same age at Manchester United and Ousmane has features that remind me of the young Cristiano."

The Sun reported in December that Dembele is being scouted by Chelsea, but it is at Tottenham where he would get a better shot of first team football, with head coach Mauricio Pochettino determined to give young players opportunities.

Here is a look at the young Dembele in action...

Nothing really that special about him in these clips but he's still only 18. Terrible try to make the clip appear "artistic" though:

I'll tell you now this kid is special! He's still raw but he is fazed by nothing. He's really confident and involved in everything good about Rennes going forward. He's been their best player since he came into the team in November. He is extremely quick and light-footed like Neymar, he is equally good with both feet (still don't know which is his preferred, sincerely), and goes on mazy runs occasionally like Messi. He is very raw and inconsistent, and his decision making is sometimes wrong, but at his best he's scary. Massive potential imo and yes he is only 18. I watch Rennes games just to see him play

I really hope Spurs don't miss out on this one - as they did with RWF Griezemann and Carrasco (yes, I believe they had a fair chance of signing both once upon a time).
Although neither Son nor Kane (and Oduwa if he comes "good") are slow Spurs still need some one lightening quick up front.

You seem to know quite a bit about Rennes, any update on how Paul Georges Ntep is doing?

Anytime I have seen them, he was on the bench.. Rennes are fairly crap as well.. I watch them to look at Quintero.. if he could get himself in shape he would be a world beater.. it's a pity he's so unfit

He's just recently come back from injury and has been rusty. Rennes attack is also not well supported so he ends up trying to do too much at times (same with Dembele and Boga). He needs a run of games to get back in the groove of things

I agree 100% with Quintero, he needs to lose some weight and get lean, he's so talented. Going to Rennes was a backwards move tbh, Montanier didn't even play him much for the first half of the season.

he's only on loan though.. played feck all for Porto last year & needed to go on loan.. A German or Italian club would of been better for his development...there's a lot of very poor teams in French Lg

Right, who knows anything about Benfica's 18-year-old Renato Sanches? Apparently he's insane. Better than Alli?

This Corentin Tolisso kid at Lyon looks fantastic. Had an absolutely astounding game today against Caen.

Lyon are a factory for footballers right now.

France and in particular North Africans in France seems a real factory at the moment.

If we went for Kante and Saido in the summer we would have a pretty much complete squad.

I think POCH will first look at dominic ball , grant ward and cameron carters vickers and will see whether they can do job for us. If POCH thinks they can then I think we can forget about signing another DM or CB ...

On the striker front , we indeed need it
