Tottenham Hotspur are said to be stunned by Eric Dier’s wage demands. He has one year left on his current £60,000 a week deal, and wants more than double his current salary. The player feels like this salary increase will bring him in line with what others in the squad are getting. However, the Tottenham hierarchy believes this is now unrealistic due to COVID-19 financial uncertainties.

Who on earth is gonna pay Dier £120,000+?

Assume we'll either meet in the middle or he'll be shopping himself round to clubs like Everton who clearly have more money than sense.

He should be pleased he's getting a new deal. He's still got a long way to go.

Sell.
I wouldn't even mind if he went down the Seven Sisters Road to the South London Johnnies

Pre appendicitis he was a genuine future talent, and force to be reckoned with. But its a bit of a bugger having your appendix out, and he just isn't the same... and probably won't ever be.

A real shame, and if he leaves I'll be thankful to him, as he was a big part of Poch's early revolution.

If hes one of the lowest paid first teamers though isnt him looking for parity understandable? When the others in the squad who are on at least double come to review their salary its unlikely they accept a reduction. I wouldnt be surprised if this is untrue though, I mean how would his negotiations have gone public? The club would be breaching data protection it they put this out wouldnt they?

Wages. Yeah, that's stuff that's going to get out. Especially the Daily Mail, from where it appears this article has been lifted.

Of course it is crazy money but they are all on crazy money.
One thing against him is he can captain England, but the premiership see a player like Fabregas as somehow more English, and penalise us/him.
His crowd invasion antics and lack of understanding why it was wrong are not ringing endorsements of his judgement either.
I like him and players seem to look up to him. But for all his pointing, we are not very organised at all with him command.

That's a fair deal imo in current EPL 120k when you consider the cost to replace him plus wages 120k is cheap.
