How much pressure is there on Arteta right now? What do people think? If we win tomorrow, will he be in danger?

The board are right behind him, if his position becomes untenable then they will act.

He shouldn't be. Maybe he should be getting more out of Aubameyang, but the rest of the squad is very sub-par. It's the common case of not being able to see another manager doing a great deal more if one were to come in and replace him, at least IMO.

Thanks @Bulletspur as usual..
.
Always a random fixture, form goes out the window - My first post/ first cliché in this week's thread.
.
A mate of mine has been a ST holder for 40 years - he never goes to the NLD's at ours but he is one of the lucky 2000 who will be there tomorrow. I suppose the withdrawal symptoms are too strong to stop him going.

How come your mate never goes to the NLD?

Too many bad memories I suppose. I think he hates Arsenal more than anything else on this planet, I've known him for almost 50 years, shared weddings, kids ourselves growing into me , funerals, he worked most of his life for Islington Council, quite high up there after many years working his way up.
Just like me has been all over the country watching Spurs for 50+ years, seeing them doing us over at WHL and having to listen to gobby armchair fans it's the one he normally leaves alone.

I'd really love a repeat of the Man Utd demolition. I want us to really show up for this one. I would like to see a complete and dominant performance.

I hope our lot show up for this game.

Ordinarily I’m so nervous approaching the NLD that I adopt a mindset of ‘just don’t lose Tottenham’. But for this one I’ll be gutted if we don’t win. Still nervous - especially with the injury murmurs that have been floating around and how bad we looked vs LASK - but it’s a different type of nervous. More like a ‘please don’t waste this opportunity to really twist the knife Tottenham’ type of nervous energy.

*golf clap*

Why are they scum then? What differentiates them from us? Or are we scum too?

Oh man, it was in jest. A flippant, irreverent comment. What on earth are you getting indignant about.

Have you heard about Arsenal? They're big rivals with us, the soccer balls team we support : Spurington Hotspur.

But yes if you want to get philosophical or existential....what does differentiate us? A profound question. However the answer will always be that they are different from us because:

SCUM.

What worries me and the rest of us, is the fitness of Kane, Lloris and Reguillon. Cryptic messages from Josè and rumours that Hart is in goal come Sunday. I’m not a religious man but I pray that it’s just a ruse to unsettle the Gooners. COYS

Gooners confidence will be buoyed by their europa win; our snoozing on Thursday will hopefully mean we’re now wide awake for the NLD.. don’t see it being a classic but I do see us winning by a two goal margin with Harry being on the scoresheet - as long as his wife doesn’t go into labour tonight! Think Dele will be on the bench again, alongside bale. Rodon instead of Sanchez? Looking forward to it all the same.

This is real tough, Arsenal have the hunger edge in my opinion they need the win more than us.

Despite improvements in our mentality it still not of the required level.

I genuinely think Thursday will have little impact. They made almost 11 changes didn’t they? It’s unlikely many of those players start Sunday, so I’m not sure how it buoys them in any meaningful way. Similarly for us, you’d think there will be significant changes from the team from Thursday.

They will raise their game, they know the rivalry and they know they need a positive result - question is can we match their levels, if so then I think we have the slightly better players ATM to win it. But make no mistake, we are still a fragile work in progress - let's be honest while people are raving about our excellent transfer window, we only signed two nailed on starters (PEH and Reguilon) the rest are squad players.

This post is the culmination of wish fulfilment. He wants it, so he predicts it.

How to go through life in a state of permanent disappointment, part 1.
Hmmmm as Spurs supporters we are all in that boat! Maybe some green shoots this time around?

They've won every single EL game this season and currently have a +13 goal difference from 5 games. These results have been quickly followed by poor results on Sunday's so i would not read anything into their last performance.

Honestly, we are meeting an Arsenal that has every reason to feel on shaky ground. We should try to take advantage of the pressure and insecurity they must be feeling early on.

Is Jose playing mind games with the injuries in the build up to the match on Sunday?
Last season we played a 442 vs the woolwich wanderers and sat deep and played direct to the strikers. If we were to do this again could Vincius, Kane and even winks have been rested?
