Is anybody able to clarify why VdV's goal was called offside? Yes I agree he was offside but the ball ricochets off an arsenal player I believe so wouldn't there be two phases of that review? Phase 1 being when initial shot being taken and phase 2 being when ball ricochets?

I get the whole sticking to his principles and playing the way Ange wants to play, but the set pieces and long balls have been a constant problem and we don't seem to have an answer which is slightly worrying.

Even the best managers in the game change tactics or have the ability/know how to tweak things so they don't look so vulnerable.

Today probably went the same way as 90% of our games where we control possession, but don't look like scoring except for some individual brilliance or sloppy defending. Whilst we gift opportunities to our opponents easily.

The biggest issue we have though is making other teams look good by gifting them so much time and space on the counter. We need to look at our defensive shape whilst in possession and not just relying on Mickey's pace.

Fuck me, that referee really is poor. He gets more 'big' decisions wrong than any other current referee and he's been selected to officiate at the Euro's. There's an endorsement for the rest of them. He's 39 years old which means we have to put up with him for at least another six years. And on top of all that he's got an oily and very punchable face.

I don't know the veracity of the claim but apparently Robbie Earle has said Oliver refused to look at the monitor regarding the Deki trip despite being advised by VAR. I'll wait to see if confirmed but if so that would be pretty bad

I can 100% see him wimping out of looking at it so he doesn't have to rule out their goal and give us a Pen instead, even if that would be the correct call.

He was just offside when Porro (?) Struck the ball, doesn’t matter that Gabriel then headed it. Had he been onside when Porro stuck it and then offside when Gabriel headed it, it would have stood
