I'm all in on Ange. And that probably means conceding goals on the break. BUT set pieces is a non-negotiable. We've seen with Gianni Vio and training, that can be trained. Thats one of Arteta's positives.

If it is Jedinak on set piece duties, he needs to be gone.
OR he needs a chance to improve them as start of season they were fine.

We huffed , we puffed, and did a lot of sideways passing and passing the buck with all the possession we had. We still lack initiative, penetration and creativity. We're not great at pressing. We're poor on 50/50s, transition and counterattacks and we're almost laughable on set pieces.

PEH seems to now be the answer at 6 which is concerning but understandable given that a lot of our player are perhaps 'dialing it in', playing injured or just off form. Arsenal didn't need to be at their best; they just had to turn up, match us physically and watch us make mistakes. I feel Arsenal could have gone up a gear or two had they needed to , but they didn't. We are what we are and there's a lot of work to be done.

He was crap.

We looked much better with Biss and Sarr but then how much of that was down to them backing off.

Playing PEH, who is leaving soon, made no sense to me.

He wasn’t crap at all. He played well in fact, mush better than Bentancur and Maddison.

Agreed but Biss and Sarr aren't exactly pulling up trees atm.

On my way back from the game and glad we didn’t totally fold when the third went in.

From their goals it felt like 3 goals out of 3 attacks and just so soft from us. I don’t mind us playing out from the back, it just doesn’t work when it’s slow almost reverting back to sideways and back from the previous managers we’ve had. Also you need someone who has that ability to play that killer ball out from the back to either wing like we did with Verts.

Felt if we had an extra few minutes we could’ve got it to 3-3, from where I was seated in the South stand Sarr, Biss and Richie most definitely upped the tempo. What a mountain to climb though.

Oliver was terrible today didn't get a grip of the time wasting, numerous water breaks, the usual Saka antics as well as some suspect decisions that broke the flow up.

For all the negativity going into this game the fans were great stuck to it on a whole.

I noticed on my way back towards Northumberland Park Station there were two Arsenal fans in a Land Rover (one out of the car, the other inside) with their shirts on filming all the Spurs fans walking along being quite provocative, wouldn’t be surprised if there was some trouble.
Before half time there was a skirmish on the concourse in the South Stand that ended up outside and with a stand-off with the police. I didn’t see it and just overheard someone talking about it but two Arsenal fans were involved, one of them ending up covered in blood and barriers being jumped. How they got tumbled being in the home end I have no idea.

We nearly clawed it back but overall it was a case of what might have been.
Something seriously needs to be done to address our rank bad defending at corners that really cost us today.

This has plagued us a fair few times this season. Too often being second to headers when they come into the box and when that happens you’re in all sorts of trouble. I was at the Olympic Stadium earlier this month and yet again that second of theirs was a carbon copy of West Ham’s equaliser.

Ange knows it’s a problem and I recall him saying he was disappointed to concede too many corners in that West Ham game because he knows that is a serious weak link in our play where he knows we can be got at easily there and so it proved again today.

Teams are very quickly working this out against us in that they know we’re very vulnerable at defending set pieces. Another one I can recall very easily is that Pau Torres header at our place from an inswinger I could go on with more… Ange knows it we all know it and opposition teams know it. It needs sorting because it it doesn’t we won’t be taken seriously and we won’t be challenging seriously at the very top in the league or even in Cup competitions.

He wasn't crap, I reckon he was played because him and Bentancur were a stronger defensive midfield and we needed that against Arsenal but the goals from the corners changed our priorities, that's how I read it anyway.
Maybe Bissouma and Sarr were more efficient on the front foot which must lead us to conclude that is our best way forward.

NF/City - 1 goal, no VAR checks, no injuries. 5 minutes extra time. Spurs/Arsenal - 2 goals, VAR checks, an actual ref checking the VAR monitor, countless Gunners injured and wailing about, 6 minutes extra time. Premier League officiating is awful, or they want Arsenal to win.

Just got back in from match and read few comments and decided to add some random thoughts.
From my point of view we went out with wrong team but back Ange.
Was worried at half time what final score would be, so final score better than might have been.
That said, though 3 down at HT did not think they played well - their football was limited but set piece play good.
We shot ourselves in foot with OG then we have VAR cancelling out VDV goal whilst not giving penalty for trip on Kulu. If either of those has resulted in goals, as with Romero header that hit post, then it would have been interesting.
Fact that instead of a penalty a long ball over the top to Saka to score just made it worse.
Not sure what has happened to Maddison but feel he slows us down too much, takes too many touches and is handicapping team. So different to start of the season.
Noticeable improvement in tempo and energy when Kulu went central and Johnson right, Son left.
How they got away with only 1 booking I do not understand - Tommy alone committed a number of fouls but not booked.
How there was only 6 mins added time second half with substitutions, time-wasting and VAR was also a joke.
Final thought - don't think they actually played better than us, we just need to learn how to defend.

One thing that really pissed me off today was the lack of shooting , I know it’s been a theme but when teams ‘park the bus ‘ and you’re in the box , have a go ffs . Johnson had the beating of his man every time but kept cutting in and that just meant we went side to side again . So much wasted posession in the last 20 mins .

Cannot believe almost every game now in the PL the talk is about referees or VAR.

We don’t want to get the tin foil hats out but when it happens over and over and over again you wonder if they want the title race to go the wire as it generates that much more interest.

I genuinely believe the organic growth in quality of the league in the last decade has left the referees in the dust. They just have not been capable of refereeing to any sort of standard the league demands. And so here we are again rueing another goal ruined by the referee…..it’s pretty sad state of affairs given the money sloshing around the game.

That’s concerning and I wonder how they managed to get in. Earlier this season a Liverpool fan was sitting near me and last year a Man Utd fan was in the West stand concourse when I had my old seat there. Not too sure if this stems from ticket exchange or the touts or both.

Not one to knock on stewards etc but there’s been a lot of issues with people who don’t have a ticket for the safe standing area in the south that just rock up as well.

Interested to hear thoughts on whether its tactics, defensive personnel or coaching that’s the issue with our defending. I think on paper our back 4 is pretty good fwiw.
Tatics.... Which leads in to coaching.... Agree defence personnel have great potential..
