Not to be a debbie downer but haven't we already been rebuilding for 6 years now? When are we going to challenge?
No I disagree, the team hasn't changed much in the last three years and we have challenged but, as far as trophies go, we haven't succeeded.
It is clear we approached the summer window differently and brought in three players even if they haven't been available and we have to move on some of our players all of which has an effect, I am hoping we get our new players playing soon and make a few more changes in January too.
An example is Davidson Sanchez is the future of our defence so maybe we should make him the first name on the defender team sheet and build round that rather than skirting around it and falling back on the old guard who are coming to the end, it has to be managed.
That said we lost so badly last night because at 4-2 we didn't try to hold that and at least stop them scoring more we took off Winks and Ndombele and brought on Eriksen, Lamela and Moura to chase the game as we had nothing to lose but unfortunately it didn't work and we collapsed in the last five minutes. That and the fact that they are clearly better than us.

Hoddle called it in the commentary. He said the diamond would knacker our midfield, and it did. The last 20 mins there was nothing left in the tank.

It’s not true. I was in the south and players came over.

Most of our “support” had fucked off by then so maybe they missed it.
Exactly - I was there at the end but by myself as even my mates left at 6-2. I def saw son come over and applaud the fans at the end.
A lot of fans walked at 4-1 which I thought was shocking.

This.... all day long. It’s like playing with 10 players, and has been for 18 months. Blokes been found out.

Was easy to spot even when he had his "good" season. Even then he pretty much every game was worst on the pitch except the goals.

When he plays in the top of the diamond formation it isn´t a diamon because he dosen´t track back. And as usual Poch in the second half trys to modify the setup. This time he flattend out the diamond and pushed Son and Sissoko wide so Alli could have his luxury role with Kane. I´m sick of it!

This one will live long in the memory for all the wrong reasons, and one we will never be able to forget even though we want to, especially like many of us if we can say we were actually there to witness us concede more goals at home in one match than I have ever seen us concede.
In my lifetime the following nightmare results are forever etched on my memory, which can't be undone.
Derby 8 Spurs 2
Liverpool 7 Spurs 0
Spurs 0 A**enal 5
Spurs 1 Chelsea 6
Newcastle 7 Spurs 1.

and now this one has joined that grisly looking list, where comical and suicidal defending and tactics on that scale is something haven't seen from us in a long while....this was reminiscent of that pathetic surrender on the last day away at Newcastle. Fortunately, I was not at any of those games above to witness them person, but I was with this one, and this has rnow replaced my first hand witnessing of us being rinsed 5-1 away at Wimbledon in 1991 as the biggest defeat I'd seen live and in person and that was at Plough Lane. I've seen some real highs and lows live at the lane and on away days but this is the lowest of the lows.

Thanks a f*cking bunch Spurs, this all happened the night before my other Half's birthday, and it is one that is a big milestone birthday if that ain't bad enough, and she was there to witness this horror show with me, so when I think back in years to come, this sorry shitshow will always be associated with it. I'm trying my best to put on a happy face for her and not let it drag me down but it's one hell of an effort and challenge.
I'm sparing a thought too for the poor f*ckers who it may have been their first visit ever to a Spurs game, what a memory !!

Let the negs begin. Kane has really shown fuck all for months. But HE'S KANE SO FUCK OFF. That is why we are where we are. Poch thinks the same way.

Blind ****. The disrespect Kane gets shown is actually embarrassing. Deserves so much better than us

I do agree with most of your points. I was pointing out the mindset that has been coming from the club since Poch's appointment. Every year he's been playing down expectations, saying we're still far from everyone else and we need more pieces to succeed. During this time several team worse than us have had more success on the pitch.
If you had a coach that told you you're not good enough for a couple of years, how would you react?

What has he done for you to think that ? to be fair Toby has not looked as good as he did a couple of years ago but he was still in the team ahead of Sanchez so that doesn't bode well for us. Now if you said that Foyth was the future of our defence i would perhaps agree.

A lot has changed also when Ndombele got booked. You could see he didn't want to commit to tackles that much after that card. Ndombele was also playing very high during pressing. So we lost 1/3 of our defensive power in midfield which at this level is a lot AND couldn't press that much.

Then, Kovac put Thiago on and Bayern just cruised to victory.

Poch did nothing about that until it was too late and introduced Eriksen, who's mainly an offensive player, so we suffered even more in transition.

Then, he went gung-ho and put Lucas and Lamela, so there was barely a midfield: tired Sissoko and Winks who was done mentally.

Bet Sessegnon and Lo Celso are having fun seeing the manager they came to play for looking like he’s going to be gone before either of them have started a game.

Quick word for Manuel Neuer. He’s bloody good. Best keeper I’ve seen at the lane for a long while.

That's why he'll be gone next season.

Agreed. Nights like last night he’ll look around and question what the fuck he’s doing. It’s alright though because we apparently play better without one of the best strikers in the world starting for us
