Hopefully a return to 3241 in possession and a better defensive effort from the front four. I'd be more confident if Le Celso or Eriksen started.

Lucas or Sissoko running at them and getting dragged down for a penalty might be the way in?

Are we about to witness Spurs try to outcompete Burnley in a game of long balls. Mourinho certainly doesnt seem keen on putting people in the middle that can pass. Im intrigued to see this

There's far too many people attaching the world 'clearly' to their opinions when it's actually nothing of the sort, with that level of self delusion evident its clearly not going to go well in here today :D

How many pages do you think we'll have by match minute 20?

Midfield looks very stodgy, but there is huge capacity for changes from the bench at least.

I'm fine with Lucas getting a chance. I'd just like to see GLC getting a chance too. He's very talented and he's what we are missing in midfield. I'm not saying he's our saviour, but he literally cannot be any worse than Sissoko or Winks in that position. Five mins at the end of games is pathetic. He was bossing games against the best teams in La Liga. He's not some unknown punt.
Well we know for certain that he won’t play instead of Sissoko or Winks. He is physically and mentally at this point to weak for Mourinhos requirements. I’m not saying that’s my preference but facts are facts, so he’s not slotting in in a CM2 for a very long time. Maybe, maybe a CM3 would mean something different for him, but that’s not on the cards either. As of now, Lo Celso is competing with Dele (impossibile) and Lucas (more possible, but not very likely).

Burnley aren't as defensively solid as they've been in past year. They have mistakes in them. So I suspect we'll win today.

Nevertheless, Eriksen and Lamela have been the two most creative players at the club in recent years. You take all of their assist and through ball passing ability out of the side, and don't play Ndombele or Lo Celso (two players who are capable of the same level of creativity), and there are invariably going to be some struggles over the course of a long season (especially if Dele is forced to play higher up the pitch). The Son/Dele/Dele attacking trio with a combination of Winks/Sissoko/Dier isn't going to create enough clear cut chances to get us pushing for trophies and the top 4.

Again, this isn't really a comment about this match, but against the likes of Wolves/Chelsea/Liverpool/City in the next 6 weeks, we'll struggle like we did against United without more than a few players with an eye for a pass in the final third.

What is this team

Jose just said Sissoko isn’t a central midfielder and then plays him there again

GLC must be shocking in training to not get a run out

Really disappointing to see Sissoko and Dier against Burnley, while GLC again sits on the bench.

You'd think Mourinho would have learned from United that we need at least one midfielder who can pass it forward.

Especially after he said Sissoko isn’t a CM yet plays him in said position again. It will be long ball football today.

Hmmmmm Dier and Sissoko.

Hopefully Skipp will make a really good account of himself against Bayern mid-week and give some more options.

He can play as holder and also has a little bit about him passing-wise.

Tough shout. Start well and not that many.

A poor start and it could be as high as 25-35 as the moan glands get oiled.

There's currently at least 4 players (possibly 5 if you add Moura who is on the cusp of scapeness) about whom people will be aching to fire into so purely from a scapegoat point of view, the variables are just too great to make a confident call.

Both injured. Ndombele groin and winks ankle. Ndombele probably got Injured doing laps on the training ground.

He looked like he’d eaten a roast dinner at half time on Wednesday night when he came on. He needs whipping into shape, and fast.
