Paul Merson as a pundit make his predictions based on what he would like to see happen as oppose to being real. A lot of space between his ears, do not give him the time of day.

Presumably the same template he used for his gambling.

This feels like one of those crux games. Whether it's deserved or not either we'll win and there will be no doubt that the title race is on and we're in it properly - or we'll lose/draw and it'll be "see, first time they play a 'top' side under pressure they bottle it".

Everyone is desperate for the narrative that we've been lucky to pay off, and it feels like we've been in a bit of a holding pattern waiting for that big game under the lights with everone watching.

being the only team still unbeaten in the league the pressure would be huge...hope the lads can weather that

Anyone else dreading this game?
Just seems like it has all the markers for a loss. Our team playing unexpectedly well, top of the league, last unbeaten team vs the team who has spent a billion, in the bottom half and managed by our former beloved coach.

I'm confident that Spurs of the past few years would lose this, but we're a different beast this season so far. We'll lose at some point, but I don't think it'll be tonight (please 😅).

I'm nervous but I'm really looking forward to watching us tonight.

Results have been very kind to us this weekend, we are playing well, we are at home, so we should be confident that we can keep our run going.

Those going really need to make it a cauldron of noise tonight.

As Chairman of the 'Take a Draw now Society as a matter of policy
the 'Take a Draw now Society' is not making a recommendation
to take a draw now as Chelsea are currently a bottom half team
and you know from the Charter we do not extend such generosity
to bottom half teams.
Win to go back top is our focus.
If we carry on like this I might disband the Society for the rest of the season
except for the games against Manchester City.
We will take a vote on this at the next meeting.

I thought you were stood down after those pictures of you “predicting a win” emerged??

It'll be tough, it won't be easy, but I still think we'll win. Especially if Udogie makes it.

In the past I would be so nervous and expecting the worse to happen. I would have serious amount of alcohol ready to steady the nerves.
However, today I am just excited and can’t wait for the game to start.
Alcohol is still at the ready but purely for added enjoyment.
Have faith and

  • Playing Chelsea who always seem to raise their game against us
  • Underperforming opposition with a point to prove
  • Former manager coming back to the Lane
  • Live on TV with the nation watching
  • Rivals dropping points over the weekend so perfect opportunity to pull away
  • But need a win to stay top
  • No fit left-backs
  • Overconfident fans starting to get cocky

I don't care how good Ange has been so far - that's a bloody tornado of Spursyness that he'll have to overcome to get anything from this game. Surely you've all seen this script far too many times before...

Yep it's a real opportunity for this new group to show that the old guard are truly in the past and this is a new era with a new mentality and belief.

Been a spurs fan far too long to feel confident about this game. Hot favourites against Chelsea, the Poch factor, playing last with the chance to go clear at the top with most the other contenders having dropped points.... kind of feels like the stars are aligning one way or another. If we win even I might start to believe.
